03/10/2014 14:18 | One year I'll be able to make it, but not this year Red. I think there is jinx. I have to match it to something else as I have to come from the Channel Islands. apad | apad
03/10/2014 10:17 | Sales are up 25% on Q1 last year, Q2 set to follow suit they say. Broker EPS forecasts to rise just 15% Surely the economies of scale here should increase eps way over sales growth. Which if is the case should see forecasts smashed if this keeps up imo. Directors were buying in Aug and Sep - bit of a clue there :-) Added today after following the director buy in Sep. As I hold my views are obviously biased :-) All imo/dyor etc CR | cockneyrebel

03/10/2014 09:16 | Typically terse statement with no city leaks. Together with the proceeds from Delcam we might see a better dividend rise this year. 3rd largest holding. apad | apad

03/10/2014 07:38 | There will be sizzling bear steaks for breakfast - Once again Renishaw proves the nay sayers wrong - Their strong investment in R&D keeps them ahead and top of the class If only the rest of UK Plc were as good but I suppose that most managers are too frightened of making a mistake to invest for the future. Here the board have a lot of skin in the game and have the confidence to invest | pugugly
03/10/2014 07:21 | WOW. 1st Qtr revenue up to 101m from 79m last year. That's a 27% increase. Only bought in yesterday (before the share price fell) so this mornings TU was a very pleasant surprise. | painter

25/7/2014 08:19 | Red.. As part of the final results statement released on 24 July 2013 Renishaw advised... "Investor communication During the year the Board has reviewed its policy on communications with shareholders and the analyst and investor community. The Board will provide all shareholders with information at the same time, in the same forum or medium, and ensure that the level and quality of information provided is significantly enhanced. As a consequence, no private meetings will be held by directors with investors, potential investors or analysts, however, shareholder meetings with the Chairman, the Senior independent director and/or any other non-executive director may be arranged where a shareholder wishes to communicate their views............." I was in a rather flippant and mischievous way suggesting that the loss of the "private meetings" could have resulted in a few Spivs being "caught short". | whitestone

24/7/2014 23:23 | white Have they? On what basis do you think that they are 'revealing all'? red | redartbmud
24/7/2014 18:07 | I rather suspect a few were "caught short" in more ways than one..!! That Renishaw have decided to level the information disclosure playing field has apparently caught a few out...... | whitestone
24/7/2014 15:12 | APAD My strategy is to buy the dip, then sell enough to recover my stake and keep the balance as additional free shares. I continually reduce my cost base and increase the yield. It may not be by much but, to coin a phrase: 'Every little helps' red | redartbmud
24/7/2014 14:51 | I couldn't disagree more Red, I used to be involved in university research funding and was hugely impressed by RSW's understanding and strategy. I particularly admire McFarland. In my view the worst that could happen would be succession by younger management out to prove something (especially if they were accountants and management types). I was also involved in additive manufacturing 15/20 years ago, when it was going to take the world by storm :-) The GKN Aerospace liaison is exactly the way to approach this market and the experience not to be carried away by hype protects us shareholders. RSW management/owners view profits as a byproduct - they are in the business of creating a gem of a company and polishing it to perfection. I bought at 460, 670 and 1124 (the last on a dip in Sept. 11) and wouldn't dream of selling, unfortunately it is now too large a part of my portfolio to increase. Relax and enjoy the ride. apad | apad
24/7/2014 14:35 | APAD I cannot fault your last sentence re; buying opportunities. Neither can I fault the product development pipieline, but I am convinced that it is time to shake up the board. McM Dee & Rbts all ageing. time for real succession planning, and perhaps a different take on financial management/prudence. The additive market will be brutal as it develops and I am not sure that the conservative Rsw will be hard nosed enough to compete. I retain Rsw as a large part of my portfolio. red | redartbmud
24/7/2014 11:45 | It looks to me like additive manufacturing could be a sweet spot. Iff so then the current price could be seen as something of a bargain. Given the control that the founders have we could ride the wave for quite a time. The market's desperation for jam today means that RSW will always present buying opportunities. apad | apad
