25/1/2012 08:34 | Revenue from healthcare up a quarter, losses up a half. Dentistry a failure I think - could've been a big market if a success. CR Japan was up 12%. China et al was the fall and China was the big story last time. Metrology down 10%, but "We completed the purchase of the Miskin premises in South Wales on 30th September and have subsequently commenced refurbishment of 62,500 square feet at this facility for the provision of additional manufacturing space to accommodate growth of our metrology range of products." Nothing to get excited about. The lesson here is the restating that RSW needs global growth. Hold apad | apad
25/1/2012 07:56 | Still work in progress, so costs are king at present. Board needs to get agrip on McMurtry & his R&D department. | redartbmud
25/1/2012 07:29 | I was just going to post the same broadwood. They were hit by Japan but looks like they've been swift finding new markets and orders - the management deserve a pat om the nack imo. CR | cockneyrebel
25/1/2012 07:05 | Profit down but that was expected. Confident outlook though. The outlook for continuing global investment for production systems in automotive, civil aviation, agriculture and energy (including oil, gas and renewables) looks increasingly favourable. Furthermore, we anticipate a recovery in the important electronics sector. The Group is well-positioned to benefit from these structural growth trends as they should result in increasing demand for Renishaw's systems and products. Following restructuring within the healthcare business, we anticipate an improved performance going forward. We therefore remain focused on positioning the Group for further growth and view the future with great confidence. | broadwood

23/1/2012 07:58 | Full copy here 0747 GMT [Dow Jones] UBS upgrades Renishaw (RSW.LN) to buy from neutral and raises its price target to 1400p from 900p ahead of the company's results on January 25. It says there's scope for disappointment given a lackluster top line, held back by tough conditions in China, and a buoyant cost base. Despite this, UBS thinks Renishaw is now a high conviction buy, as these risks appear fully discounted. Furthermore, it says the China automation story has a long way to go. Shares closed Friday at 1092p. | cambium
23/1/2012 07:53 | How about this from UBS. Results Wednesday UBS Renishaw PLC 23/01/12 07:16 Upgrades Neutral Buy 2 900.00 1,400.00 500 | broadwood
19/1/2012 08:58 | clearly prospects for RSW are looking brighter : | rogerrail
11/1/2012 14:34 | My pal bought at £17 - he doesn't rate it at all :-) It's a lovely order book I want to see - where's that insider? apad | apad
11/1/2012 13:32 | Chart looking lovlier and lovlier imo. CR | cockneyrebel
29/12/2011 13:45 | C, Still needs to prove the new factory before recovering. Current movement is not as good as some other engineering peers. C.f. WEIR for example. However, WEIR is linked to the oil industry, which is spending, so is perhaps not a good comparison. Pity we can't see the order book - need an insider :-) apad | apad
29/12/2011 12:31 | Nice bowl forming on the chart an testing the recent resistance. CR | cockneyrebel

24/11/2011 09:18 | I've been looking at ADVFN trades over the last week or so - usual small numbers, buys usually more than sells. How do I link this to the share price movement? Are they independent parameters? apad | apad
22/11/2011 12:54 | falling whilst ftse is rising, again. the short is working out, tp 650, pity, i think this is a good company, but the chart dont lie. | nwalsham15
18/11/2011 10:35 | Value share now at nearly 4% yield. Down to 13 engineering vacancies, Small volumes traded as usual, more buys than sells over the last week or so. apad | apad
18/11/2011 09:16 | looks like a good company here, falls when the ftse does, but doesnt recover as well with it. shame. through support, im short at 880. | nwalsham15
16/11/2011 11:22 | support at 900? bounced a few times here, screaming a short if it falls below 900, which is what i will be if it happens. | nwalsham15
15/11/2011 18:44 | ok, anyone like to have a guess why this is falling to £9 when the ftse is up, what on earth warrented a 5% drop today?? | nwalsham15
28/10/2011 07:42 | Back to £13 before too long imo - the sell off here was warrantred but went too far with silly brokers getting carried away imo - big recovery underway in Japan and growth picking up in china and the far east - the bulk or RSW's market. I'd bet in a month or two's time trading will be far better and the share price is just starting to reflect that imo. CR | cockneyrebel
24/10/2011 21:14 | True although the directors were also buying at 1549p and 1320p. | wjccghcc
24/10/2011 10:23 | Director buy is a £30K vote of confidence in the business from a very experienced and highly regarded non executive director. That's his hard earned money, not a share option scheme. | rogerrail
24/10/2011 09:16 | Japan and China trade numbers better than expected today - RSW's main target market. Director buys 3k too today I see. Due a bounce here imo. CR | cockneyrebel
14/10/2011 08:32 | Agree with Electronica about RSW in the community. They hold great store by their presence in the local community and are benevolent in good works. One postscript to AGM - not sure if downturn result of customers de-stocking or if a real downturn taking place. Too early to tell. Profit is always skewed to the second half of the year - but 2008 downturn was an exception to the norm. On the Japanses fron the effects of the earthquake have now gone. Customers back to full production. The RSW staff donated their annual company weekend away to help the clean up, and RSW made a contribution to the appeal. Brought the company even closer together. Again reinforces RSW as a supporter of the local community. | redartbmud |
