bonio - we have two pockets of resistance now. For gold, now we've gone decisively through $1200.60 the next ceiling is $1210.50, and for RRS the £70 level would probably trigger widespread profit-taking.

I did have an inkling today would be exciting.

Pity the trolls didn't listen, but then they never do!

Morning bonio - lagging agan, but note post above reckon we have profit-takers here at the moment.

I take entirely the opposite view. Buy on the dips and hold.

This baby is going to £100 quicker than many expect.

Quite a few early sales so far, being nicely absorbed and gold has just moved over $1202 spot, so once the profit-takers have moved out I'd expect this to push on up provided bullion holds above $1200.

Morning blueball - indeed yes. In fact gold at $1200.60 correlates to £70 here.

Only 15 minutes to see what transpires.

Yesterday's late sharp fall was interesting. Was able to pick up a further 51 shares, but it looked to me as though some of it was shorting, which will have to be closed at some stage.

If gold powers on above $1200 the squeeze on the share price here will be substantial.

Slight, as expected, resistance showing around $1200, but nothing major. Just hovering below at $1199.45.

Today's trading is critical to see if gold can break $1200 and close over that level tonight.

Should be an exciting day.

And a jolly good morning to all the genuine and decent holders here.

Gold has finally popped over $1200. Currently spot is $1201.35, so I expect an opening here above £68 and if bullion holds above that level or even moves upward we should see £70 today if the correlation trades come good again.

The "Trump" effect seems to be kicking in after yesterday's argy bargy, so anyone wanting to dive in here and accumulate needs to do it first thing before the laggard effect is reversed.

Thanks for that phil. We've just poked above $1192 so around £66 should be the open in the morning if we stay at that price.

All to play for, for a quick trade up to $1200 and £70 respectively.

blueball/philanderer. We've been up to $1197 at the peak tonight in New York.

Now back to $1191, up $8.

Important if you can post the closing price of RRS tonight in NY. They may have been able to sell some production today around the peak. That's how it happens. It's not just the close or open of the gold price. Depends when their sales take place.

This will be reflected in the closing share price I'd say we'd be looking at above £66 equivalent.

Anyone in short-term or trading, please remember there is resistance at $1200, but we could reach that, or above, overnight and tomorrow morning.

At current levels, $1195.38 spot, we are in for a strong performance here tomorrow.

If we break $1200 overnight, RRS will surge to £70 tomorrow.

That's the correlation. The correlation never fails.
