Lots of new marketing initiatives in recent months, re-launch of the Panda brand, getting it into new channels ie. Tesco, Ocado and Booths (a Northern 'Waitrose'), new look packaging for Vimto and Levi-roots,the Vimtoad ads, and the new 'water flavourer' variant.

Investors here should note that SAB Miller has started to move into overseas soft drinks markets with the announcement of a tie up with a french company to bottle coca cola in Africa. Miller are a big player and could easily mop up a few smaller uk drinks companies over the next 12 months or so ....they have cash to spend,

Will the removal of the beer tie help Nichols? I think it might.

Outlook

We expect our UK performance for the remainder of 2014 to maintain the positive trend seen in the first half of the year.

In light of the strong performance of in-country sales and the change in timing of shipments to the Middle East, we anticipate International revenues in the second half of 2014 to be ahead of the prior year.

In summary, the Board believes that full year performance will be in line with current expectations.

I can see nothing in the press to justify a fall of this magnitude. The fine is ancient history and sterling as a strong currency doesn't really do it for me either. I think that the low volume observation is relevant and do wonder if Nichols market cap is working against it at the moment. There may be some portfolio rationalisations going on here and clearly large lines would take a long time to shift. We may soon be getting towards a buy point but I would like to hear something from the company before topping up.

To be fair it's been on a very high rating and even now bit pricey. Might be nothing wrong at all with trading just that share price got overheated. Exactly like TEP earlier this year.

ygor706 Was thinking the same. Results not due for a while, but you'd think given the fine summer, trading would have been good. You'd think the market would already have discounted the £8m hit from the legal case(as you said in July). The strong pound be hurting exports ? An excessive amount discounting going on in the supermarkets (there seems to be).
