12/8/2021 11:30:06 | And very nice it was too :-)
Iceland also had Vimto ice lollies on sale. | philanderer
11/8/2021 15:01:41 | Bought the new Vimto cheesecake on sale in Iceland this morning :-) | philanderer
10/8/2021 14:45:08 | Yes, I've seen the spread at 1400p - 1500p a few times recently but I would think you could deal well inside those numbers. | philanderer
10/8/2021 10:44:55 | Well, I'm a little disappointed that the share price has not picked up since interims. One problem is of course, that the liquidity is poor and it is difficult to build a position, or for that matter exit a position. I raised this question at the Investor Meet webcast, and the CFO just responded with a short ad lib response, which suggests he has no plans to increase liquidity at the mo.
Even if the family do not want to sell any of their shares to improve liquidity (and I guess they don't), then we could look at a capital restructure to issue 5 for 1, or 10 for one share split. Whilst this does not impact overall balance sheet, it would help to increase the daily volume, reduce the spread and in turn allow more auto trades, rather than off-book trades. | disneydonald
28/7/2021 15:18:57 | xd tomorrow morning for that 9.8p dividend | philanderer
23/7/2021 09:04:39 | Seems to be a shift in dividend policy, as they used to run pretty hot and pay out around 1.5 cover, but it now seems they are planning 2 times cover. They mentioned that this would help retain cash for acquisition opportunities. I guess we can assume they are positioning for growth again (and hopefully a growth rating in the market), rather than just an income stock as they have been for the last few years. | disneydonald
21/7/2021 09:07:07 | More than happy with that update. | philanderer
21/7/2021 08:51:24 | I have made a lot of money out of Nichols over the years but am currently out. The most recent numbers are solid but annual eps is still going to be well below where it was in 2019 for some little time yet. Meanwhile the share price continues to run at £14+ which is too high for me. | ygor705
21/7/2021 08:36:23 | Decent set of results. Looks like sales building momentum, albeit with some cost and labour pressure. See how they go, and what management have to say later. | disneydonald
20/7/2021 12:35:34 | Hopefully tomorrows results will follow the BAG update today. | philanderer
15/7/2021 16:19:14 | Bang on chart support, looking increasingly like 1200p to be tested . | philanderer
13/7/2021 00:27:19 | Yeah, I got the invitation from the Investor Meet people. I hold VLX and they use Investor Meet as well. Looking up re communications for NICL, usually they say nowt ! Maybe now that the family have representation on the Board, they are supportive of promoting NICL. I guess if there was any bad news the new management team (CEO and CFO) wouldn't take the hot seat next week. | disneydonald

22/6/2021 12:26:43 | Quite a bit of profit taking in a lot of the small caps yesterday. | philanderer
22/6/2021 08:45:38 | There’s nothing that I can find. Maybe it’s just profit taking after such a good recovery in the share price this last couple of months. Maybe the Market over reacted to the continuation of COVID restrictions for another month. | disneydonald
21/6/2021 15:11:27 | 1640p down to 1400p in twelve days.
That's a rapid fall. Hopefully no major issues. | philanderer
08/6/2021 15:45:34 | All this good weather is encouraging for the OoH sector. The second quarter OoH sales should have recovered well, and if cordial sales still going well at home and abroad then I reckon that overall first half trading may surprise to the upside. Either way we will soon find out when first half closes out in three weeks. | disneydonald
03/6/2021 14:46:07 | 1600p AT buys today | philanderer
01/6/2021 12:12:14 | Yeah, reasonable analysis. However, written by a US based commentator, so likely no actual feel for what reality looks like, just a fair guess. The "pubs" side of things are related to the dispense side of the business which includes a wider range than just pubs, but clubs , caravan sites etc. Also, the OoH sector includes all the discretionary purchases made for individual portion sizes, shops, canteens etc. Which should go well as UK starts to mobilise again.
Finally I would add that NICL now has has new management (CEO, CFO and their respective long term incentives now in place), and the family now have Board representation (no doubt to look after their ~35% stake), so hopefully lots of motivated execs to drive things forward. I still reckon we should move forward especially once half year results announced. | disneydonald
01/6/2021 01:19:44 | Nichols: Fair Value Amidst Subdued Demand | philanderer
20/5/2021 13:55:28 | Buys coming in at 1500p+ this morning. | philanderer
19/5/2021 01:13:10 | I've held BVIC for many years and tuesday's announcement was a very good one . | philanderer
18/5/2021 12:50:24 | Britvic market update bullish today, bodes well for NICL. Lots of buys coming through this morning, maybe on the back of Britvic bullish update. Next couple of weeks should see the share price go well, assuming no unforeseen market tantrums. | disneydonald
13/5/2021 12:55:50 | All feels good with NICL, steady progress being made. I have taken a few profits from my SB positions at 1500, but holding my long term real holdings. | disneydonald
12/5/2021 15:31:17 | Picked up a couple of 1 litre bottles of Vimto 'remix' squash (orange/strawberry/lime) in Sainsbury's on 'clearance offer' for 90p each this morning.
Never tried it before but just had a glass and it's very good :-) | philanderer
