I agree that MCD is very competent and was neither suggesting otherwise, nor positing that anyone do anything (at all) based on mere 'hope'. I was simply offering a view - and then expressing that I personally 'hope' that this will work out for her, for Maurice and Brian + Board, and for the Group. That's all. ex

Never invest on hope? what makes you think "luck" is any better. you can't rely on luck either as you can also have bad luck as well as the good kind. the only real "edge" you can have is insider info which is illegal.

This company had an excellent track record up to now making consistent profits.

all "turn around" investment rely on the chances of it being able to turn a profit again. "hope" or "luck" is all the same in my opinion in this context.

trouble is - they're now fighting on 4 fronts in tandem - Far East. US. Mid-East. UK. Cost-cutting (as recently stated) while trying to grow sales, in 4 places at once, is no easy gig. Cash can bleed quite quickly in any SME when sales routinely disappoint. Past, and potentially present?, guidance has frankly been poor here. Now, its all about a turnaround action plan. What is that? Will it work? Hope so!

There is something not going well at NWT, but i'm not convinced it's because of incompetent 'Family' members running the business.

Bringing in a new CEO might improve the share price short term but not necessarily the business itself in the years ahead.

At the moment things do look uncertain here and I'm standing back for a while until some figures are pencilled in for the size of the loss. However should it drift to 1p on absence of material news then i'll add for sure, because of the strong asset backing.

Further to my post back in July it seems some people never learn. CEO appointed through a personal relationship, not on ability.

Just look at the surnames of the two main board members. Tells you all you need to know.

ShareProphets article:

hxxp://www.shareprophets.com/views/23997/shock-rns-sees-newmark-cut-back-to-14p-from-bad-to-worse

Summary version: still a decent company but probably needs a better CEO. Maybe there is no need for Safetell and Grosvenor to be part of the same group either. Shares cheap.

Never invest on Hope. Hope is a binary gamble. To succeed you need an edge, and luck off course. Hope does not give you an edge

Because , in my hope and opinion, this will prove to be the point of maximum pessimism.

Why buy now, they have at least a year of struggles ahead of them?

The trading update was extremely disappointing and unexpected after the last one.

Nevertheless, I've bought more at 1.45p. I'm hoping the news is relatively short-term and this time next year, the shares will be around the 3p mark on the back of a brighter outlook etc.

There should be plenty cash / liquid assets to keep them going and they're now valued at less than three times last year's operating profit. I hope and expect the current price to look like a crazy bargain in two to three years' time.

But ... you win some, you lose some; the idea is to have fewer of the latter and NWT hasn't helped this year!

News does not look good, still strong balance sheet and they did have a strong cash position which will help for a while. Question has to be the prospects for a longer term? They are investing for the future, new offices opened and products in the pipeline, question is when will they start to deliver on this investment!

Another dissapointment for me. It made sense to buy going on the last statement. The market was right to be skeptical it seems.

Not sure I am in a rush to add just yet. At least they have a strong balance sheet. It's going to take some time to trade through this difficulty they are experiencing.

Trading update is pretty awful share price down 27%, loss for y/e Apr17 now expected and few crumbs of comfort in sight.

This goes XD tomorrow by 0.1p yes? Either way - it's worth 5p per share / just over £23m IMHO. And even then - it wouldn't be that expensive.

This is a great share on all measures for me; P/E, ptbv, yield and growth potential. The problem is that most investors are simply impatient!

Seems to have hit a bear phase recently. Frustrating is all I can say but I may add on weakness. Can't seem to get them at the offer price of 2.1p quoted today.

Does anyone else find it strange that this is down close to 10% on a small net sale of about £2.5k of stock.. That values the company at about £25k not £9.73 million...

Not far off 2.25p at the moment. If they restructure and sell the electronics side to concentrate on saftell business then 3p plus is instant IMO.

Looks a decent buy at this level especially with such strong cash levels in the balance sheet. Need to sort out the electronics division though. Safetell looks like what they should focus on primarily and perhaps sell on the electronics side for someone else to focus on.

Yield looks safe while sitting on them. Should now attract some income seeking/recovery type institutional funds.

they were in early June. HH are big backers of management teams, and they have been let down, so I'd be very surprised if they weren't trying to get shot of the lot.
