No point - just not heard of them - I'm a bit behind the curve here.

I guess Merck need in-house expertise and the quickest way is to buy it in - hence the takeover in 2015.

Looks like Qlight Nanotech were acquired by Merck in 2015 and has since been Merck's primary QD research lab. But what's your point?

As you could clearly see from the old links you posted, there is a lab bought by Merck in 2015 which aims to produce quantum rods. Not cadmium free quantum dots.

This is interesting:

From:

The contact details of the quantum dot R&D company is:

Qlight Nanotech Ltd.
Danciger A Building, Givat Ram
POB: 39082
9139002 Jerusalem/Israel

If you look up Qlight Nanotech on google you get:

Thanks to Eskers over on lse for finding this item.

"The company recently began marketing cadmium-free quantum dots under the livilux brand. They enable a remarkable increase in the color range, a significant reduction in power consumption and are also eco- friendly."

Will be interesting to see after 2 years of playing with Nanoco's QDs, whether Dow have a single 400kg reactor nearing production, or whether that is now multiples, aligned with the new production processes etc.

They've had enough time to build larger reactors, whether they have demand or the wherewithal is a bit TBC.

If you were going to invest in Nano, the sweet spot will be in about 3 months (IMO), once they have confirmation Runcorn is shipping and the Dow launch is imminent in July.

Hi Minsky. Re post 11451.Consensus is making 2 errors imo.First, it is too fixated with a 6 month view. I guess 30% chance of order over next 6 months - rising to 80% over an 18 month view. The market and upside is there - it is just a case of timing. The broader market may be willing to price this in before the average pi. Second, it is excessively weighting the probability NANO is not a going concern by the end of the year. QD market remains attractive. Well resourced shareholders. No debt. The downside is not to zero. My guess is 20p, 20% dilution to fund the year, leaving abundant upside from either a 20p or 30p entry point.Very attractive risk/reward imo.

It won't, unless buyers start offering more for the shares, and sellers refuse to part with them at present prices.

It will require an RNS with confirmation of sales to trigger a recovery in the share price.
