16/12/2016 10:49 | Eddy I thought those sentiments too! including the "end of the beginning....." but I didn't post, feeling for Lord C's emotions. | dazzaa
16/12/2016 09:48 | Volume yesterday decent so expected some news. Volume is pitiful - market expecting more perhaps. Sold at circa 20p. Don't hold now but did think the news was decent tbh. Perhaps with press coverage over the weekend this could move higher next week. Looking at the fall yesterday to bid price today - hardly transformational. What's for sale next I wonder - any ongoing talks perhaps? None in the public domain certainly as I am aware - GL all. | mattab
16/12/2016 09:07 | Hopefully now the sellers are out of the way we can move forward | jamdan1
16/12/2016 08:43 | Welcome back lord crybaby. Sale of the east anglians for £17m, purchase of the i for £24m. I reckon those decisions stack up well. Pay the debt down and you've got a virtual straight swap - the only growing national paper in exchange for a handful of down-trending regionals. So no, it's not the beginning of the end. But it might be the end of the beginning... I like the i on Sunday proposal. Let's see if they can make that a winner and make it four good decisions in a row (am counting the IoM sales as a good one too). | stdyeddy
16/12/2016 08:36 | wooooosh! Well done JPR! | netcurtains
16/12/2016 08:12 | This is good news and hopefully the start of more sales to come. Hopefully a turnaround is on the cards. Good time to get in. Market cap of eleven million with a cash sale of 16 million | jamdan1
16/12/2016 08:07 | That £16m will buy back alot more debt in value terms, up to £25m? at 65p in the £? Whatever the bonds are trading at. It is a big discount to face value. | nick rubens
16/12/2016 08:05 | It would be nice to see some sort of recovery now. | jamdan1
16/12/2016 07:57 | The market was beginning to think nothing was happening. It's great news and likely more to come. Would be good to hear of CA doing some prompting in the right direction for them. | nick rubens
16/12/2016 07:57 | Wonder how the market will react | jamdan1
16/12/2016 07:30 | Cash is king - reduce debt and focus on more profitable areas. Good news! | philjeans
16/12/2016 07:16 | 17 mill, is not a lot? | cgod
15/12/2016 11:26 | In my opinion the disposal of quality titles @ firesale prices would mean the beginning of the end. | lord c.
12/12/2016 21:08 | All seems to have gone quiet on disposal front - weren't Iliffe interested in buying titles? | blue meaning
11/12/2016 23:48 | Well eddy it won't be long now, I would imagine the press release is about to be sent to the lawyers to check the spelling. | dazzaa
02/12/2016 22:55 | Yes that in it self will be the problem. (Finding the right chairman) I'm not saying JPR is a basket case but there may not be too many volunteers.Any one care to throw some names into the ring | dazzaa
02/12/2016 17:02 | This may be the case of an ill wind certainly an opportunity to have a change of direction for the company. | dazzaa
28/11/2016 12:43 | cheers MrX9000 "Nick: £40m would be for a lot more titles than just the ones in the east" I'm hoping for a decent sell off that can make a big impact on the corporate bonds situation. Maybe something is coming as CA haven't made any moves yet. | nick rubens
28/11/2016 09:53 | ...and printom is Cat Stevens in case you are wondering. | netcurtains
28/11/2016 08:51 | Lord C is Tom Winnfrith in case you are wondering. | printom |
