stdyeddy: One thing you can say is that you have had a steady interest in JPR for a very long time!!!

- If anyone can say Go long or Short with the voice of experience it probably can be you. You've been here DECADES!!!! Blimy!

Hats off to you!

beefcurtains; don't worry about it. Anyone can right click and filter irrelevant posters. I'm perfectly ok with your juvenile ravings btw. And no one is likely to be betting their savings on your opinions, so granny's considerate counsel is not needed here.

Dazzaa:
Better still: "dont have a personal vendetta".

Its OK - the poster is just a typical UKIPer, I'm sure this will die down soon - if not, I'll stop writing on the JPR thread - I'm sure the poster just wants rid of me and is not anti-JPR. I can live with just being a viewer and not a poster if that is what the person wants.

Hi grannyboy: I get the message. If I write any UKIP posts again I'll get wiped out. I'll keep my head down to shares from now on. You win.

You've got to understand that netcurtains lives in a sureal world,(well you would need to, especially when you have daydreams of humping jean claud juncker), so when netcurtains posts anything that needs intelligent thought, it fails miserably...

I just hope no one takes its posts serious, it could lose you your savings...

Eddy have I been sleeping on the job ?What's this about the i on Sunday, I must admit it's a novel idea but how would it be financed, kept separate like the Times ? Or worked together with existing staff and with supplements too Interesting !Certainly there would efficiencies of scale and the cost of £2.50 for ST AND £1.70 for the MOS it might provide an alternative. It may possible to trial an online only format or is that what was intended as I missed the article.

Happy new year dazz, and the rest of you. I've no idea on the future share price - all depends on events such as; launch of the sunday i and its success or failure; paying down debt; recession in the wider uk economy; buyout from rivals; buy-in from sky (their £5m has lost 90%, maybe they'll average).... to name a few things which immediately spring to mind. Am just going to react to events as they happen, probably by smashing my keyboard to pieces on the desk which, although a bit useless as a financial strategy, has therapeutic effects that are quicker than taking diazepam.

fundamentally local paper circulation is linked to women at home and old people. Less women are stuck at home and thus circulation goes down - no big news there.

However, year in, year out, the number of old increases..

We all know LOCAL news will EXPLODE soon.... It is the future!

You're all missing the real winner in this sector - TNI.

Priced to go bust - throwing off pots of cash daily. Debt almost gone - pension liabs a red herring - will fall away immediately interest rates go up next year.

TNI BARGAIN

salty, the I are growing into shrinking market, its all about growth, the reason why alot of the print advertising is being cut by the larger corps is because the nationals circulation is falling, while the I is growing they will be giving The I a greater share of advertising spend.

Until they unlock the secret of growing online digital revenue locally, local titles print revenue is going to continue to shrink while online revenue stagnates.

The I diversifies the business and will eat into the market share of other paid for competitors. I think Trinity Mirror will be watching very closely.

You're right on your comment Salty, but they will make the money back, not sure on what time frame. As the I gets more popular so will the advertising. I believe they (JPR) will need to pay off another 2million in February 2017 for the I. The board, I say are making some good decisions since Ashley took over. It wont be long before the debt is paid off full, thats the main concern. The lower that debt falls the higher the share price will go. I'm thinking this share price is undervalued. And MM's are keeping the price down. It dropped down 20% before the rise of 16%.. They know what they're doing, and making a tidy bounce at the same time.. Patience is needed.... the days of single figure prices are long gone. Its stable.

The I has made no money for JPR. Remember, they paid £24m for it! They've got to get that back first. And nobody would buy it from them so please don't say it'/s carrying that value.

Ad revenues are awful. Spending a fortune propping up circulation.

Some of their regional titles are worth supporting but they're distracted with this shiny new thing called the I which will actually be the undoing of the business.
