Great post Dazzaa, the I is going to have a great year next year, as the only growing paid for circulation newspaper, the I is sure to be gaining a greater market share, with more agencies choosing to include the I in their advertising campaigns.

I also note they haven't been selling any wraps since the readers were not happy with this policy?

Do Johnson Press own the freehold (or long lease hold) of this property:
2 Cavendish Square, Marylebone, London W1G 0AN (their HQ)?
If they do that will be worth a fortune!!!

What on earth are they doing having an HQ in London - they are a regional and Scottish paper??

Get rid of it

Zoopla say the next door property is worth £26 MILLION

I believe the news story in The Sunday Times stated Jpress own The Scotsman & Yorkshire Post - not that they were titles they planned to sell !

I think selling the scotsman would be a good move in my opinion.

Nick: £40m would be for a lot more titles than just the ones in the east. The ones in the east will be for less than £10m

Next RNS should be interesting, possibly raising £40m plus on selling those regional titles as reported in Sunday Press.

Can anyone make anything out from the newsquest accounts at companies house, moving to a £189m cash pile? And late filing their accounts? Could it be conceivable that they could of been buying JPs bonds on the cheap, earning 8% interest and for which they could conceivably make a bid, knowing full well they have saved a fair bit on the bonds, surrly a no brainer and a win win situation for which they cannot lose either way? Thoughts on a postcard...

The eastern titles will not fetch that much, so I wouldn't get to excited about them in my honest opinion. In regard, being listed as core, sub core etc, you have to look at overall costs. One would assume that the Isle of Man titles have to be printed offshore and shipped over and perhaps like the eastern titles not an area that they want anymore.

Whilst trade volume has increased today it does not strike me that many are getting too excited, but share price seems very sensitive to even a few buy trades in a row.

Will match the recent 20p and double from there when we have the actual deal details.

Anyone notice Newsquest are late filing their accounts...

I also note the statement of capital change on the above link since the allotment of shares... anyone shed any light on whey they would of done that?

Somebody does not want the share price to rise as yet, hence the hurry to issue an RNS...
