14/11/2016 08:55 | As usual, jpr is quick with a RNS to throw a wet blanket over the 'speculation'. Am constantly surprised at how these notices are so badly written. You'd imagine that a media company whose currency is the written language, would be able to write properly. | stdyeddy
14/11/2016 08:07 | Good start so far...hopefully the start of a sustained rise | jamdan1
13/11/2016 18:31 | Thanks for the recognition dazz. Let's hope this sale actually comes off at a good price and that they spend it on a bond buy-back. | stdyeddy
13/11/2016 17:42 | Hi CatsWhiskas, ...and , maybe more materially, the Scotsman and the Yorkshire Post......again, per ST. ATB | extrader
13/11/2016 11:16 | Johnston Press lines up sales reports the Sunday Times.JPR is in Advanced talks with Iliffes over the sale of a number of titles thought to include the newmarket journal and Suffolk free press. | catswhiskas
13/11/2016 09:48 | Well you were spot on with the your pre update, yes much of the same though I thought AH was less ebullient than his usual self in his statement maybe JPR has turned the corner, he must be pleased with the i and improved cash flows.Certainly it (the i ) has more full page advertising I have not seen as many perhaps Christmas has some bearing.CA must have been satisfied with there meeting with JP as all is quiet. It's nice to read about JP in the financial press without it being said we are a basket case. | dazzaa
12/11/2016 17:58 | Thanks mrx9000 I was expecting CA to have added by now considering they have been paying a higher price than the current SP, I was also expecting some more news after CA meeting with management, hopefully some more news soon. This company looks a real good investment opportunity to me, I am however completely baffled by the current share price I did receive a reply to an email last week from AH stating what had already been said in published interviews etc and was in agreement with me on the current share price stating that management also believe current price does not correctly reflect the company. I am invested here and have topped up a few times recently with a little more set aside for possibly more. Some interesting posts on here rather than some of the drivel i have read elsewhere, Thanks again | firw00d
12/11/2016 07:30 | Firwood: potentially yes, it is not something one would bring up. CAs general practice is to topup and topup so will be interesting. | mrx9000
11/11/2016 23:17 | MRX9000 When you said AH mentioning Enterprise value was "interesting" were you thinking down the TO road buddy ? Also does anybody have any ideas why CA have been so quiet thanks in advance guys | firw00d
10/11/2016 14:35 | The statement was in line and actually so far it has not moved the stock either way. The deadline for bondholders is middle of 2019. A comment on I think it was City AM has AH mentioning the Enterprise value which I found interesting. They have to be very careful what they can and cannot mention. My gut feeling is that CA will topup in the next few weeks and take their holding over 10%. | mrx9000
10/11/2016 14:07 | Eddy I don't know as I'm not in contact with them, but they must be kicking a few tables and slamming a few doors at least. Surely they are in contact with management about their company and pushing for action? Isn't 2017 the deadline to repay bondholders? Cutting it a bit fine if so. | nick rubens
10/11/2016 13:14 | What do the major shareholders say about jpr nick? | stdyeddy
10/11/2016 12:34 | There are a handful of shareholders that own nearly 50% of this company. I find it hard to beleive they are just sitting by and letting the company dissolve away unnoticed. There was a huge fully supported placing a few years ago at multiples of this price to reduce the debt burden and it has only come back to square one again? In a few months time we might look back and wish we had filled all our boots and more, rather than moan! lol | nick rubens
10/11/2016 11:57 | Think we should remember that CA increased their stake after meeting with BOD in september. Holding increased from 4 to over 6% between 19/09 and 27/09. | jackbal
10/11/2016 09:46 | Don't hold as you are aware but this is pretty standard and as predicted. Nothing on divestment (perhaps to come) - no mention of buying discounted bonds and CA. It wouldn't surprise me if CA got nowhere with the JPR Board who are inept and certainly clueless regarding shareholder value - been the very last consideration or so it seems. Perhaps AH wants to get another massive bonus when the Bonds are restructured in 2019 and happy to just keep taking the Salary until then. For holders - truly hope he actually delivers this time. Personally IMO it is well overdue and the board should have put down the road years ago. For a 1.5 bn pound company at the high - a real true disgrace. GL all | mattab
10/11/2016 08:12 | "Following the successful disposal of the Isle of Man titles in August, we continue to explore opportunities for further divestment, and will provide an update when appropriate." Next bit of news should be on this front. | nick rubens
10/11/2016 07:47 | The market probably presumes correctly catfood. Ashley promised interesting developments around christmas. He's been known to disappoint though. Frequently. We yearn for new management... | stdyeddy
10/11/2016 07:35 | What the fock!!! Where is corporate restructuring finance news progress ??? The market won't like this it will presume there isn't any ! | catswhiskas
10/11/2016 07:29 | Was my prediction spot on? I thank you. Reliably down as usual, fast earlier and now slower. Good news from the i but not enough to offset the overall decline. Brace yourselves for a minor slump in the share price as new holders turn away in disgust. I reckon this might not end until jpr works out how to make the printed paper more attractive to buy, read, hold, and display. | stdyeddy
09/11/2016 18:16 | What trading update tomorrow? | joker199
09/11/2016 16:39 | improving a bit - trading update tomorrow ? | mister md
07/11/2016 17:45 | I genuinely thought you were a cat. Does this mean you can't play the piano either? | stdyeddy |
