TNI keeps popping up doesn't it? I hear from the chartists that it looks as though it might be forming a double bottom, 'w' or as I like to call it, the bum shape. I agree with dazz; timing might not be best - that almost certainly means that we're both wrong. Good luck newspaper investors. I hope the massive divi holds up.

As for lord c; my goodness he's a sensitive soul. I try to bring him into our discussion proper and off he goes crying about cyber bullying just because I likened him to a supernatural ghoul. Seriously, it was an invitation to contribute properly instead of just wailing that the end is nigh for jpr like a broken record. As dazz has already intimated, if you're going to position yourself as an aristo, you've got to expect a little teasing. So, well done for being right so far. What's happening next?

Why not buy TNI but maybe later, market sentiment is not with us at the moment.

Interesting the valuation of Local World which mirrors JPR's portfolio and profits.

I would sell JPR and buy trinity mirror instead which is greatly undervalued, DYOR. Debt free next year, dividend yield 7%, a lot of freehold properties, mirror and other papers circulation holding up well, digital revenue increasing massively, pension deficit and advertising revenue hopefully will improve then the current valuation of 220m is too low, (Local world was bought for 220 million!)

When it was in the 3 figure valuation I also found it to be very overvalued and if you can remember me and stdyeddy had many a discussion on it. However now it is very attractively valued, so much so that it could easily be picked up by more than one party. Am all for a balanced view though.

JPR have lost 98% of their value since I first aired my negative views which have not changed.
Anyone taking notice would have benefited far more than those posters who have rudely and aggressively rubbished me on their way to the bottom.

The old days indeed; when we optimists were proven to be consistently wrong! And now that 99% of the shareholder value has disappeared we're back again saying that must be the end of it and the only way is up. I wonder if this is the stopped-watch moment when we get to be right twice a day.

Anyway, am massively looking forward to thursday dazz - can't wait to see what our little jpr chickens have been up to for the last six months.

As always there are differing opinions on this BB and we accept them at face value, Lord C's is no better or worse than say cgod.

That said his opinion as stated should be qualified or at least reason given to it if to be accepted as impartial or balanced ie No shareholder value presently OR will it never have? if it is the former that assumption could be based on flawed analysis of recent facts something we are all prone to do (from time to time) but if it is the latter ?

In all the years On this BB I cannot recall such a consistently dedicated genuine well informed though completely wrong contributor as Lord C though I have to accept I could be wrong there might be someone else.

Interesting to hear LordC. I personally disagree that there is no shareholder value and so far, so does the very shrewd Crystal Amber. The next 6 months are going to be interesting in my view...

I have posted on LSE - Maffa - don't hold but a balanced view. Something needs to come from JPR regarding selling assets of non core - perhaps buying of the bonds at a large discount - a series of RNS on one day will ignite this share. Trading update on Thursday.

It's bafflingly small isn't it? What possible reason could they have for selling 36,000 shares in a transaction valued at around £4,700?

Orbis have reduced a tad from 13.3% to just under 13%. A strange transaction, perhaps they did not want the number 13 in their holding.

cgod: Gannetts uk arm is called newsquest, buying up jp could fit nicely into their operation, increase their eps and bring increased synergies.

I see Gannett have announted that they are dropping the bid for Tronc. Troncs stock has nosedived a third so far! Tronc was asking for far to much imo.
