Strangely, I bought into IOG because it was low risk:-
Operates in the North Sea - very well mapped and drilled, with infrastructure.
Stable territory (apart from Boris of course)
Assets are nearly all previously drilled discoveries
1st gas about to come onstream, with all offshore work completed.
If this is high risk and speculative I wonder what the other oilers are called.

Have tried to buy this morning however the price is on the move. Wonder if it is in tomorrows IC or it is getting a mention this weekend in the press.

Thank you Edgar222,

I am trying to be optimistic but as cautious as possible too. I would rather the brokers lowball it too. I can see FinnCap are tinkering with their gas price estimates and I noted Investec coming out recently with some of their own:

- 10 year average gas price has been 50p per therm
- They expect prices to average 125p during the 2022 financial year and then 75p before settling at 55p for the long term.

The movements of Russia, the Ukraine, other factors - no expert in this area and how gas might deviate from forecasts. Just have to rely on their estimates but overall IOG still looks interesting.

Let's see how it goes!

All imo

The revenue numbers at current inflated gas prices are higher than those figures (assuming 70mmscf/d in initial flow from a total test rate if 104k). Double that revenue, IMHO.Then double again next year when Southwark online.

Picked a few of these up.

This is going to be my one speculative high risk punt for 2022. Any other high riskers will just be quick trades.

AGL was the speculative high risk punt this year and it went absolutely bonkers so having another go.

IOG have to balls up massively not to see share price appreciation from here. They're on the verge of generating revenue and profit with some decent numbers right around the corner.

2022 forecasts:

Revenue £126.6m
Adj PBT £83.4m
Adj EPS 13.5p

Even if you discount those heavily for delays and the inevitable balls up here and there (it always happens with these sorts), it is still an interesting speculative high risk play.

Basically, they have to make a complete and utter mess from here and THAT CAN NEVER BE RULED OUT. However, it is still a far superior prospect to the majority of garbage out there, especially as it seems that the material financial transformation is close.

It looks like someone is sat happy to buy in size at 30p despite all recent delays so I would expect them to keep buying even if there are further slight delays.

Overall the chart is in a range of 28p-32p and consolidating near the recent highs, which is another bullish sign.

A break of 32p is what bulls will be looking for.

Once more HIGHER RISK SPECULATIVE PLAY

All imo

The chart still looks good to me despite the share price drop on todays news.

First gas first few weeks of jan. That's all you need to know. They wouldnt dare go past this. Surely 45p minimum once rns lands in jan

A little bit disappointing from under achieving management prone to flakey timelines

"The new 45 metre emergency vent stack is now installed, electrical and instrumentation activities are ramping up."

Dunno how they expected to produce gas without the emg vent stack. Not an insignificant piece of kit that has probably only just gone up. Throwing in the weather excuse only for the lame!

UK gas price is now 305p per therm. But it's no bloody good if you don't produce anything.

Today is another buying day...that update could have been a lot worse. Gas price is still 4 times what they have budgeted on selling it at. Still expect a significant upside pop here. I'm thinking some knew yesterday what the update was going to be and were happy to full up.

168, Eh?! It wasn't always going to be 2022!! They only, as good as admitted that, in the last RNS.
Can comeone remind me of the much touted "COS" of Harvey please?

6 month chart showing Heikin-Ashi candlesticks, MACD and certain EMA's.
Chart looking bullish, which is not surprising given the fundamentals. Hopefully the circa 50% rise seen in September will be repeated during the next 4 weeks.
