Didn't see that, but if it was a sell there almost certainly was a buyer as it seems to me highly unlikely the mm's would take on board over £2 million of stock.

There's good two way trade going on at close to the SP's high. Shows a lot of support for the stock.

Last week I read a comment on this board where the poster innocently professed their "love" for this share. .

I tried to forget it but been back and I didn't imagine it - it's still there hanging like a curse. .

Am I the only one, or did anyone else read it and feel a dark shadow pass over them?

I hope GVC stay clear as well. I think they will, Kenny's not stupid.

Buying Amaya now fraught with issues.

Too soon after Party Bwin which is not yet fully integrated
Amaya has $2.5 billion of debt, nearly 4 times its EBITDA.
Dubious ex CEO facing insider trading charges, who knows what other issues hes left behind?
Poker is ex Growth
Poker as a game has been solved and the site is full of bots playing near perfect thus killing the receational players.
Amaya is big in grey, eg Russia
Amaya have tried to cross sell its database sport and failed miserably. (OK GVC might do a better job but eve if they doubled the sucess rate its only going to take sports revs up to 8% of the Amaya revs.)
Amaya has a fine owing to the State of Kentucky in the US for $870m.
The Kentucky case is likely to make Amaya a "bad actor" and for example California if it regulates would not all them to operate for 5 years as a penalty.

No thanks..

Will Amaya be bought?

The online gambling software company attracted a fair amount of interest from potential suitors over the past week, both from private equity firms as well as from companies in the betting industry.

Interest in the company is coming from across the pond from both GVC Holdings PLC and William Hill PLC. GVC is a gaming and sports betting company similar to Amaya, based in the Isle of Man, while William Hill is a British bookmaker.

Both companies have not formally responded to comments about the meetings with Amaya, which apparently transpired in the past week. Amaya provided a response, saying only that it would be acting “in the best interests of the company.”

News relating to the meeting and the potential deal sent Amaya’s share price up to levels not seen in nearly a year.

Amaya’s lucrative business:

Amaya’s business model remains one of the most lucrative opportunities in the market. Online betting has massive appeal and income potential, especially when considering that Amaya still operates within a fairly limited market.

The online gambling sector has massive, untapped potential. Gambling companies often require state and regulatory approvals to operate within certain jurisdictions, and Amaya is no exception to this. Amaya was granted approval to begin operations in New Jersey earlier this year and quickly became the largest revenue-generating online gambling company in that state.

Amaya is also reaching out to obtain regulatory approvals to operate in international markets. The company already has significant revenue-generating operations in the U.K., France, Italy, Spain, and Malta. Further approvals in both the Netherlands and the Czech Republic are likely to follow.

The truth remains that, controversy or not, Amaya is one of the best opportunities in the market at the moment. If anything, the controversies surrounding the company have made Amaya an even more attractive opportunity. Neither the court case nor the investigation of the former CEO have any bearing on Amaya’s business model, which remains both strong and growing.

Good post and sensible points raised. If KA goes for a bid then I have to believe he thinks it is the right thing to do at this time. I find it difficult to believe he would risk all he has achieved by taking a step too far.

Good to see the share price is in positive territory, when it could so easily have been hit by those echoing your sentiments.

I'm naturally a bit more cautious on the prospects of another deal in the near term for GVC.

Granted, many here, including myself have enjoyed fantastic gains from the company. So soon after completing a deal that we have not yet fully digested poses a challenge, and could weigh down the balance sheet. It's another operational risk, and we've seen many acquisitive companies get in difficulty after a period of picking up companies. Plus there's the incurred costs of looking at a company in-depth to know exactly what you're bidding for, and that's not cheap. Plus the attention it takes away from other areas of business.

We shall see! There's a never a dull moment anyway, and if there is a man to do it, it's Kenny!

Yes me too, although it was only a small purchase I have to
admit, most of mine were bought at the inflated price of
between 90 -100p.

As for wmh, I have droned on for a while now that we will get
them, very exciting times we shall see.

I hope you are well.

790p for a ten bagger for my lowest price paid. Not far to go.

The silence from the company speaks volumes IMO. This is just like the way the BWIN takeover struggle started where 888 made all the running and then up popped Kenny to spoil their party!

GVC joins forces with Scientific Games to boost
engagement in Regulated Markets
GVC has today announced that Scientific Games Corporation's WMS® studio will supply its market-leading online casino content to the Group's Spanish and Belgium gaming sites.

The new games, which will be offered through the bwin, partycasino and partypoker brands, will see in excess of twenty titles added to GVC's portfolio, another significant upgrade as the Group continues to expand and improve its casino line-up in regulated markets.

Popular slots within the WMS stable include Rainbow Riches, Thai Flower and Spartacus Gladiator of Rome themes, all of which - and many more - will now be available to GVC's players in Spain and Belgium. The new content will be fully integrated into GVC's gaming platform over the coming weeks.

Liron Snir, GVC's Chief Product Officer said:

"We are really pleased to be able to offer WMS award-winning content to even more of our customers. This is another big step forward for us in building a best-in-class casino for our players, wherever they may be."

Bob Hays, Vice President Commercial, Interactive at Scientific Games, added:

"We're excited that GVC has selected us to provide games in Belgium and Spain with the initial release of twenty SG Interactive™ titles across desktop and mobile. This is a fantastic opportunity to deepen our existing relationship with GVC, carrying our strong partnership forward into new markets. We look forward to rolling out more content in the near future."

I do not normaly predict the price of a share, however it seems to me to be on the cards that this time next year we could easily see GVC share price over £10.

Yes, the strong online operators will prosper
whilst the opposite will fold or be acquired.

I would not be surprised to see gvc on the ftse 100
within twelve months, quite astonishing.
They obviously got the cfo from Wonga for a reason,
all might be coming clear.

William Hill, GVC among bidders for Amaya by John Tilak and Alastair Sharp TORONTO:

Canadian online gambling company Amaya Inc has received strong interest from strategic players and some private equity firms, according to two sources familiar with the situation.

Several bids have come in, and suitors include British bookmaker William Hill Plc and GVC Holdings Plc, a sports betting and gaming company based in the Isle of Man, the sources said, speaking on condition of anonymity as the talks are not public. They spoke this week and last week.

The bids for the operator of online gambling website PokerStars are above Baazov’s planned offer price of $21 per share, the sources said.

Amaya’s shares were trading at $21.48 in Toronto on Friday, giving it a market capitalization of about $3.1-billion ($2.34-billion U.S.).

The board’s special committee “has not made a determination as to whether a transaction of any kind is in the best interests of the company at this time and will continue its review of alternatives,” Amaya spokesman Eric Hollreiser said.

Amaya paid $4.9-billion to acquire the owner and operator of the PokerStars and Full Tilt Poker brands in 2014, saying at the time that the deal created the largest publicly traded online gaming company.

The company’s biggest revenue contributions are from the Isle of Man and Malta, while it has also recently expanded into France, Italy, Spain and Britain, and expects to soon gain regulatory approval to operate in the Czech Republic and the Netherlands. It sees its biggest growth opportunity in the United States.

After a lengthy approval process, Amaya won permission to operate PokerStars in New Jersey, one of the first U.S. states to legalize the business.

The sector is "in play" - they shake up continues. Hills had to do something but still think the Pokerstars has too much grey for Hills.

GVC is the obvious choice in terms of a deal that actually makes sense
