23/9/2016 15:01 | So what I think we are saying is that the secret to wealth, health and happiness is holding a shedload of GVC shares? Cant really argue with that! CM. PS I hear they also make you more attractive to women (women/men/other - delete as appropriate). | cheshiremoggie
23/9/2016 14:54 | Not hard times for us..... just thinking about our fellow man, many of which I hear hold few, if any GVC shares! | festario
23/9/2016 14:52 | Both Not to be rude but you two talking of hard times when you gvc shares are rocketing is a little much. Just buy gold miners also and sit back, under your battened down hatches then, lol. regrads active | srpactive
23/9/2016 14:25 | Agreed Mylands, the packs of things in Poundland are going to get ever smaller, plus the cost of transporting them will be on the rise. Not only that, but the cost of customers getting to and from the shop too! Hard times ahead. (even harder?)In terms of GVC this week, we seem to have got stuck at 750p, because there will be funds now gorging themselves on these shares with a 750p target.... then, we can move up, and the whole process repeats itself.Small volume today, so watch out for a massive UT at 16.35 today, a huge transfer of shares around 750p. The usual hidden or 'off market' deal. | festario
23/9/2016 14:14 | Sterling on another lurch downward. Heading towards my year-end targets of $1.20/£ and 1.10Euro/£. Then wait and see what happens to the pound when we get the first signs that the Brexit negotiations are difficult/bad for the UK. At some point the fall in Sterling is going to ramp up inflation. We are in the period when the benefit of the fall in value is reflected only in export orders being received, not the cost of imports at inflated prices. Tough times ahead IMO. | mylands
23/9/2016 12:58 | yes there are, brownie, I can name at least 2 others: RB. & RPC. it's not unusual... to have stocks loved by anyone like this... ;-0 | sogoesit
23/9/2016 12:52 | You won't do it, Fester, because you know the one time you do - it won't happen! Happy trading!! | woodhawk
23/9/2016 11:52 | Its spooky how this retraces to the long term trend. Has any other stock had such a consistent rise over such a period of time? | brownie69
23/9/2016 10:07 | Note to self; 'sell all your shares at 4.29pm everyday, and buy them back at 8.29am the next day'It's the depressingly obvious way to increase my holding by at least 1% a day. (and line the pockets of the brokers) | festario
22/9/2016 16:25 | GVC Holdings Results show upside/upgrade potential BUY Target price 825p | Publication price 754p Interim results demonstrate that GVC is extracting more value from the Bwin acquisition than it previously expected and also that synergy benefits are ahead of schedule. We upgrade FY16 estimates to reflect this and over the medium term we can see the prospect of further ‘beats’ given exposure to growth markets and the cross-sell opportunity at Bwin. We raise out TP to 825p and even after the latest leap in the share price, the valuation is still attractive. 22/9/2016 13:06 | Well I only bought some at 79p, actually after I had bought some around 90p, but like you bought more along the way. This goes down as a good investment along with ezj, rtd and itv to name a few. More recently the gold miners. dyor regards active | srpactive
22/9/2016 12:05 | Ahh, I can't match that SRP, I'm a relative late comer to this party at 96p. But to be honest, I added many more times through the 120's, 240's etc.I even bought more in the last 3 weeks. Good 'ere innit? | festario
22/9/2016 11:01 | Festario It might be the lowest of the day, but we got in at 79p, the lowest ever, get us. dyor | srpactive
22/9/2016 10:23 | Trouble is, it's you who are predictable WH, no doubt your 'buy order' will mysteriously be the very lowest that anyone paid all day.Either refrain from lying, or refrain from boring us with your trades, because no one is interested anyway.ON TOPIC .... a huge 926k shares declared just now, bang on 750p. | festario
22/9/2016 10:10 | I wish the share price was as predictable as you Festario! Stop whingeing and grow up, man! Anyway, I've got my first buy order in, so I'm off for the rest of the day... happy trading! | woodhawk
22/9/2016 09:46 | I was aiming for 770p - so 779p exceeded my expectations - although I must say I found the presentation very strong - as K.A. intimated there is clearly a lot more to come that isn't in the price, imo. In any event the further this pulls back, the more I shall be buying - thanks to some profit taking in HSBC which has done me proud recently, and here, I'm well endowed - and can't think of a better place than GVC... when the price is right. | woodhawk
22/9/2016 09:38 | Woodhawk You did well to sell at 779p, though I had a target of 800p to sell the few thousand I bought at 706p on a T20 in the last week of August, thinking the inclusion in the 250 and the Interims would push them up to 800p. Nearly got there, but not quite! I've now paid for them and will hold. | mylands
22/9/2016 09:14 | Agreed mylands. A bit more pain, perhaps, then onwards and upwards again. Hoping for a re-entry below 740p, circa 5% below my sale price yesterday. Still, its only pennies to the likes of Festario! | woodhawk
22/9/2016 08:48 | active Yes off topic, but I have to say the LAM headline reads pretty bleakly, yet the stock rises by 10%. So I presume it's not as bad as the chart over the past few months has been forecasting? Back on topic, what goes up must come down, especially after the stellar rise following the interims. Pause for breath then head on upwards towards my personal target of £10 in the next twelve months. | mylands
22/9/2016 08:37 | Morning all For all that like risky recovery situations, I mentioned lam the other week, results just out, I have been buying very high risk though. dyor regards active ( apologises for off topic ) | srpactive
21/9/2016 22:52 | Yes, I am quite witty, Festario. I'm also very good at calling temporary tops, though not quite as good at bottoms (I usually get over excited and shoot my wad a tad too soon). Happy trading!! | woodhawk
21/9/2016 22:35 | Woodhawk 719p, yes a strange price, could be a late posting, corrected trade, or might even be a typo error by a trader, who knows? | mylands
21/9/2016 22:24 | Woodhawk, you're hilarious, you really are. | festario
21/9/2016 22:00 | LOL. No chance mcp01. I did sell some today at 779p so would welcome a minor correction... but I will be reinvesting imminently I'm sure. In fact the DJIA is up over 100 points since our close, so tomorrow may be interesting. In any event, I'm sure the share price won't go anywhere near 700p let alone below 600p!! Your own self-confessed track record here doesn't really recommend your judgement, does it? Didn't you think to average down at the lows? Still, if you think its going to retrace big time, you could sell up now and save yourself more years' pain, couldn't you? | woodhawk |
