24/5/2016 15:57 | I'm positive on Gfs for the moment. However it is not nice to see the direction of price movement of GFS on what has been a very strong up day for the markets. It is disappointing to say the least. | bigdazzler

20/5/2016 20:10 | Interesting news article: Electra Ltd. (TASE: ELTR) is considering the acquisition of international security company G4S's business in Israel, and is conducting preliminary contacts on the subject. G4S is a UK company that recently announced its wish to cease its operations in Israel, while also cutting back its activity in other markets. It is believed that the price for the activity in question is NIS 200-300 million. Managed by CEO Itamar Deutscher, G4S has five main fields of business: infrastructure projects in Israel and overseas, service, maintenance and commerce, real estate development and construction, and franchises, as well as (more recently) security. G4S, which was previously believed to be the world's leading security services company in terms of revenue, has several thousand employees in Israel. The company, which has been criticized for its business beyond the Green Line, where it provided supplies and maintenance, announced in 2013 that it would not continue its contracts in those areas. G4S conducts its activity in Israel in advanced security technology and diverse guarding and security services through four business divisions in advanced security, according to the demand. The company has hundreds of thousands of employees worldwide, and according to the "Financial Times," its revenue in Israel totaled £100 million in 2012, amounting to only 1% of its revenue worldwide in that year. The interest expressed by Electra in acquiring the security company is expected to substantially boost this area of its activity, following its 2015 acquisition of Tavas, a provider of guarding, security, and cleaning services, for NIS 25 million. | bprofit

10/5/2016 15:11 | It will be a slow turn, nice one to tuck away, but debt is high. The dividend at this level if maintained is 5%+ | che7win
10/5/2016 13:11 | I am also positive GFS is starting to turn around, will take time but going in right direction... growing revenues and profits and when loss making contracts sold or closed they could reduce debts or lead to improved profit margins. | bprofit
10/5/2016 13:05 | The main reason a share price moves is on news, the constant bad news recently has not caused a new low, and the recent little positive yesterday caused the best one day movement for years. Get ready for more positive news especially from Australia regarding the prison contracts, I for one am buying. Hope that helps. dyor regards active | srpactive

04/4/2016 11:12 | Possible good recovery play here with very good yield. The news does surprise me though as I wouldn't have expected investment in cash systems this late on. But knowing the Walmart demographic and how backward the rest of the US is with technology adoption, I guess it is no surprise. I just wonder how attractive the system is to other companies and countries who are moving away from cash. | minerve
04/4/2016 07:52 | From The Sunday Telegraph:Troubled security company G4S has signed a $210m (£148.8m) five-year deal with Walmart to provide the US grocery behemoth's cash services across a huge swathe of its American stores. The Sunday Telegraph can reveal that G4S has quietly begun the installation of its Cash 360 system, which reduces the need to handle cash and limits opportunities for theft through collection points at tills, in 900 Walmart stores, and has confirmed orders for 1,360 stores in total. In the future, the company could roll out the system to a further 2,750 stores, it has estimated.Cash360 works by requiring the cashier to deposit cash into an intelligent safe which detects and removes counterfeit notes, then counts and deposits banknotes into a cash bag. This cash bag is located inside a safe that is not accessible by the cashier, before later being picked up by G4S and transported in a secure vehicle. It is also possible to link the safe via an online connection to the retailer's bank so that cash can be credited to the business's account on a daily basis, improving a business's cash flow.Walmart is the US's biggest private employer and the largest retailer in the world, employing around 2.2 million people to serve more than 260 million customers. It has more than 4,500 stores in the US alone, and reported net income of $4.57bn for the three month period to January 31.The deal with G4S, which is understood to be currently in the hands of the Bank of America for final sign-off, represents a much-needed shot in the arm for G4S following months of bad news. The security company's boss Ashley Almanza admitted last month that G4S should have never entered into a contract to house asylum seekers in the UK, as it revealed Government deals have cost the firm £265m since the end of 2013.Mr Almanza said the business case for a number of contracts were not properly evaluated when they were signed in 2012, before he joined the company, and that existing contracts could cost a further £57m. | mip55
