My old boss, when I last worked for someone else, 24 y.o. 1968 used to say

"if you can make water (coffee, tea, orange squash etc) stand up you'll make a fortune"

He was right and I did

it isn't rocket science but running a group of them successfully is!!

Making a cuppa and a few snacks is hardly rocket science. Having seen your investment go phutt, you would all most probably be shocked ridged to learn what my friends' cafe is making every day, every week, and has been doing so for years.

They offer a good clean service and great value for money.

No rip offs here.

So I am left to wonder where the Money went as start up costs are not like launching the Shuttle either.

If any franchisees believe that they have a valid claim against any of the directors or more importantly against any director, now wooudlbe a perfect claim to file court papers. It is unlikely that the company can be sold with any contingent liabilities, court cases etc hanging over it.

And what precisely have you done about it in the many months that you have been complaining ? Gone to the FSA, gone to a solicitor, hired a forensic account, hired a hitman ? I believe that you have done none of those things. If you have, I can therefore assume they have come up with nothing otherwise you wouldn't still be moaning.

Update on Administration






Further to the announcement of 13 July, the administrators of Coffee Republic
and its subsidiaries have granted a period of exclusivity to the preferred
purchaser of all or parts of the business. The terms of the exclusivity
agreement and the identity of the potential purchaser are confidential.
Commenting on this development, Joint Administrator Richard Hill of KPMG LLP
said: "As expected, the huge volume of enquiries from interested parties
produced a very healthy level of offers. We have spent the last few days
clarifying the terms of the most attractive offers and we have now identified
our preferred purchaser. We have agreed a period of exclusivity to allow that
party to carry out some limited due diligence which should enable us to agree
the terms of the sale of the residual business as a going concern during the
course of next week."
All parties who submitted offers are being informed of the situation but no
further information will be released until after the expiry of the exclusivity
period.


A further update will be made in due course.

So, why oh why were franchisees not being listened to - they were at the front end of it!! Even in the last couple of weeks, barstlett has tried to rope in the people who are suffering because of his stupidity and ignorance. The letter he wanted people to sign, wtf was all that about? He obviously knows the type of twit he was recruiting - the sort of twits that let him take back stores without notice and who were paying more for smoked salmon than M&S!! So, JAF, Hammond and all the others with different aliases - are you now going to retract your comments of "losers" so often used towards these failed franchisees - I think you just better had.

Where is Madre, PJWearer and all the rest of them now eh? Go back through all the boards, these may well serve as evidence. JAF, I think you had just better stop. You HAVE been defending cr - you said you were a shareholder and happy to leave cr to manage - that you trusted them. Why, months ago, the "shareholders" were`not asking questions just shows that there were not shareholders at all - they were rampers.
