But the real shareholders chose to listen to the likes of JAF, JonC, PJWearer, madre, slimeboy, paulhammond and all the rest of the bum clingers.

+++++++++++++++

As it happens ws I did suggest to shareholders that they be cautious in continuing to buy CFE shares but was accused of deramping to try and buy in cheaper so I shut up. This suggestion was made on the email ring that was/is running.

I could call you far more Madre. You appear anywhere else with your ramping and your reputation has gone before you. Stay up Barstletts bottom where you well and truly belong. You and all your cronies have managed to lose a lot of people a lot of money. Hold you head up high, be proud. I hold other companies so keep an eye on ADVFN, what's your excuse?

Maybe, and I know I shouldn't say it but, if the right people had made the right noises 18 months ago, this may not have happened. But the real shareholders chose to listen to the likes of JAF, JonC, PJWearer, madre, slimeboy, paulhammond and all the rest of the bum clingers. Funny thing is, JonC made an appearance on another thread I have an interest in. So, make a list of all the rampers from here and make a note NOT to listen to them in future. Lessons learnt. And, if every you have the misfortune to come across Barstlett in the future .............

barty isnt a salesman .the majority of the money he got was from people who trusted him and invested in his dream.yes they were in to make profits and took a risk but the lies about the position leave a sour taste.

he was all about ego and greed and thats what got the company in a mess.i think bobby well and truly made him luck like the mug barty made us look like .

If they had told Barclays to accept 5p in the pound, rather than say 70 or 80p, they could have saved themselves a great deal of money which they could have used to buy the company from the administrators. My guess is that Barty and Breach genuinely thought they could play hardball with the landlords, who ultimately called their bluff.

Agree with most of what you say C911 but I'm not sure what sort of position CFE was in at the back end of the year to negotiate with Barclays. If they had no cash, it's difficult to come up with any form of bargaining chip that will let them support you other than going along with it. Banks currently are very keen on only lending short term - so agreeing to a position going forward and backing it up with a placing may have been CFE's only option. The fact that Barclays took a bath indicates that CFE didn't give up without a fight though. Sadly all it did was postpone things for a few months.....

what do I know of scrutinising accounts?

Just enough to make me get out when I did!

Let's assume a person takes out a lease for 10 years at £10,000 p.a. He has an income of £10,000 so he has no debt. After paying one year (£10,000), that person is declared bankrupt. The court will then state that he has losses of £90,000 even though he told no lies by saying that at the end of year one he was debt free.

This is a hypothetical example. I am not posting anything about Coffee Republic again.

ok, anyone want to post anything on here to start with? cw, what do you know of scrutinising accounts? Would hammond like to make any comments? jaf, jonc, madre, jamesclive, pjwearer, nectarios? Can anyone explain the £3m losses so soon after the "debt free" position was announced?

Simple, gather your eveidence, and also thoughts, and ring them up with your
suspicions.

How does one organise that then cw?

To me it is simple and I am glad I sussed it before getting involved with two franchises and sold.

The Barclay deal triggered it off for me as it was obvious that Barclays was pulling the strings and the management was weak enough to let them to so.

The criminality, in my opinion came after the deal with all the hype from Barty and his boys, that the company was now well positioned when clearly a proper scrutinisation of the accounts told a different story...the sad results of which you are suffering right now.

No doubt, in my my opinion of course, the SFO should be called in.

Don't be daft Dan, JAF has always said he is happy to pay in his money and trusted management to do the managing. I think hammond has a better idea - he was the one who was posting all the "detail".

makes u sick when u look at the amount of placings and cash raised and the fact in december the placing which told shareholders it would make them debt free.forgive me but losing 3 million in five months thats going some ..perhaps jaf can explain where the management spent it all
