I doubt barty is - remember he was wanting all the franchisees to support his own bid.
Wouldn't put it past him though. But I suspect he has too much baggage with the franchisees for a new owner to want him on board.

Was it not Barty who instigated the intial Arab contact with CFE. I wonder if he is in the background.

molatov - YES !
Why unfair ? The administrators have sold the assets for the best they can get. There will not be enough to pay the creditors - particularly those who own the properties leased to CFE.
So why as a shareholder who must have known the risk when you invested do you think it is unfair that you'll get nowt back ?

So not being an expert in companies in administration, the Arabs have steamed in, bought the company and what are we left with? Worthless share certificates?

It seems to me particularly unfair that this can happen.

...... Reading JonC's posts again makes me puke and based upon ADVFN continuing support of his and others' rubbish posts, this web site based upon JonC's diatribal input should be renamed ADVANCE INFANTILE DYSLEXIC LEARNING CENTRE.

Jockblue,

Good post earlier, I believed, I lost, time to move on now, a bit poorer but a lot wiser from the experience.

Krod - Yes it was risky, I always thought so even if others didn't....however, the story was credible if it worked and a basket case if it didn't. A bit like PHRM for instance:-)

You would surely know as that is all you have ever posted here, perhaps your
childish posts were just a Barty's blind.

jock - good post.
What is certainly true about CFE is that most of the dirt that normally goes on behind closed doors in businesses has been done out in the open.
An entertaining story for me - sorry to see so many decent people lose their shirts. But sheesh it was always going to be a lot riskier than many of those posting seemed to believe.

"no debt during a recession" - that was never a positive. Barclays pulled the plug so they had to raise equity to pay off the loan.

crdirect,

Don't go off at a tangent. In your mind, these are evidence of lies. To me, they are business deals that were either talked about and didn't happen, or tried and failed. That is not the same as posting a fact on here that the business was bad.

And no, even if these deals did fail, that does not make them conmen. All businesses try things - some work, some don't.

Some facts please, from anyone. Macro-economic pronouncements are meaningless - we are in a recession so any business could fail. Raising cash ? Bobby Hashemi diluted the shares more than P & B so that's not a fact.

Had the company been a success, one could just as easily point to a number of positives - no debt during a recession, experienced management (at least Peter and Barty had run businesses before), expanding the company into new countries.

Post hoc ergo propter hoc ? Not from the posts on here.

That's my lot now. The money gone, I'm moving on.
