23/4/2016 02:57 | Mixed messages here! The last RNS states in increase in institutional holdings (over 5%), the Sheffield presentation looked good to me (see below & the progress with refurbishments & the Starbucks alliance that seems to be gaining traction), yet the share price is showing weakness. Hope that a few broker notes that reflect the progress are issued next week or soon! | lauders
18/4/2016 11:01 | Probably a decent holding for current times, with Brexit, low growth, world economic woes of one sort or another, all making it hard to know which businesses will or won't do well. Smaller UK businesses that people will keep using whatever are fair bets to buy right now, IMHO; and CINE is one of them. | andrewbaker
18/4/2016 09:19 | Monday/Tuesday ?! This is a steady as she goes stock . . . How about £10-12 by 2020. | weemonkey
16/4/2016 01:10 | Thank you very much again Fingers! Appreciate the update and hope that Monday/Tuesday bring CINE holders reason to cheer :-) | lauders

15/4/2016 13:37 | I hope we don`t start this mullarky ! One of the largest cinema chains in the US is considering letting customers use their mobile phones during films | philanderer

14/4/2016 01:48 | Nice day! Now if the trend can just continue that would be great. Perhaps a few broker upgrades about now would help. They do wonders to knock the price down when they turn cautious but don't quite have the same effect when they become more bullish. With momentum behind them perhaps the impact would be greater? | lauders
13/4/2016 14:41 | Reversing some of recent losses........... | soundbuy
13/4/2016 11:05 | Nothing goes up in a straight line. Nice (quite boring) dividend paying stock. | undervaluedassets
13/4/2016 08:15 | Not so loved at the moment. Everyone watching the commodities at the moment it seems. Trying to stay with CINE and hope sentiment returns in due course. | lauders
31/3/2016 13:23 | There was press that the 'slate' of movies this year was set to make for unpromising box office Well Batman v Superman broke all kinds of records on it's first weekend And with a slew of 'superhero' movies coming out over the next few years set to follow this encouraging trend . . I would venture that box office looks to be far from unpromising for the next year or 2. | undervaluedassets
29/3/2016 07:21 | Their website not the best user friendly experience. | philo124
29/3/2016 01:52 | So I see undervaluedassets! Quite alot of press (TV, i.e. BBC) about it this Easter. Reports about the high box office takings and feedback. Apparently you either "love it or hate it". Can't that be said about anything LOL! | lauders
28/3/2016 20:41 | batman v superman set to be popcorntastic. | undervaluedassets
22/3/2016 07:59 | Brokers' notes seem to have an 'expiry date' of a couple of weeks tops, which ever way they call it.... | soundbuy
19/3/2016 01:43 | Seems CINE was upgraded by Canaccord Genuity to a target of 520p from 500p yesterday. Wow! Big target that has already been surpassed. They increase based on: ".... increasing the chain's fiscal 2016 EPS forecast 5.0% to 31.3p and 2017's by 6.8% to 33.9p and is introducing a 2018 forecast of 37.1p. Says the growth is mostly driven by a lower tax charge and the rollout of new multiplexes rather than any material improvement in trading." They retain a "hold rating", which usually means sell in broker jargon! Helped with the share price today but will hopefully go much higher and smash their already beaten "target". Brokers! Not worth the time from experience. | lauders
16/3/2016 01:37 | Nice to see a mini-recovery here to above 500p. Cannot believe the impact the DB downgrade had on the share price before results and the slow recovery post positive results + an upgrade. Hopefully we will be back on the way up to 600p over the next month or so. | lauders
12/3/2016 03:55 | Thank you for the link sharw. Things look positive to me. The board appear to have everything under control and are ready for the future. Their experience is enough to keep them at the forefront of the business & the expansion plans are positive. Debt has been reduced and will be around the same levels (perhaps a little lower) in 2016. Eastern Europe still looks very promising with Romania and Poland in particular & in the UK the Starbucks partnership helps the bottom line. With the increased dividend, positive outlook, board's industry knowledge/expereince and expansion/refurbishm | lauders
11/3/2016 20:36 | The results presentation is well worth listening to and can be found here: Not sure how long after the event it is available. | sharw
10/3/2016 17:19 | When I read the separate announcement on the succession process (ie "training" - for want of a better word - a chap to grow into the role by an experienced finance director), a query did arise in my mind. Does seem strange to pre-empt the decision before confirmation that the prospective appointee will be up to the role in a year's time. Similarly, there is now a distinct feel that a cosy fiefdom is taking over the company, both in terms of shareholdings and management. OK, their interests should be aligned to other shareholders, but there doesn't seem to be any genuine counter-balancing forces with the company to rein in what are, effectively, controlling shareholders. Worth retaining a close watching brief over the next year or so..... | grahamburn
10/3/2016 17:15 | I think they make stuff up to explain the lack of reaction to good results .. I agree with weemonkey and in that it takes time for good results to bed down. We are well off all time highs so there is room for progression after good results (not good - best ever) like these.. given sluggish growth environment generally not many UK plc's will have results like this this year. Also Cinema as an industry does ok in recessions should we go back into one - so stock with nice defensive characteristics. | undervaluedassets |
