Will need to be voted by Cineworld shareholders. So they can reject it.

Regal buying Cine I get...this way round I think looks big headed at best....lets call it hubristic. Of course if you wanted to take control of the company on the cheap.....and not actually follow through on the deal.

This is the size of the things: Cineworld currently operates 2,217 screens across 232 sites (recent trading statement) Regal currently operates 7,315 screens across 561 sites ( hTtp://investor.regmovies.com/ )

I’m hanging in there in the hope this gets nowhere. They should focus on the emerging markets

Shares are down because of the purchase of Regal Entertainment for $23 per share or $3.35bn (£2.5bn) financed with debt and Rights issue. The problem I see is Regal has net debt of $2bn or £1.4bn on their books vs. Cineworld's £280m.

The rumour surfaces from time to time but would trigger competition concerns as in the 2013 version: hTtps://www.ft.com/content/a3532c4c-d1e9-11e2-9336-00144feab7de

The rumoured (in Sunday Times Business section) bid from Vue for Odeon might well have an impact on Cineworld. That combination would catapult the new grouping into a major force in the market (at least in the UK).

This should soon be back above 700p. Blade Runner 2049 with Harrison Ford back (October release) will likely break £1Bn whilst STAR WARS The Last Jedi released in December will break $2Bn IMO - possibly becoming the highest grossing film of all time. $3Bn for 2 films alone - not bad.
