29/10/2015 10:52 | Hi CR, actually they were not deramping here, I was being a bit random mentioning GS! I agree with your view which is why I invested. It seems to be the case in bad times that escapism helps, and people are prepared to pay for it. I am pessimistic about the state of the world, so it reinforces my view. That certainly was the case during the Great Depression when it was boom time for the likes of Disney. CGI is at a decent quality level at last, and is pretty seemless with real world set building, making previously impossible subjects to film, now possible. That means there is a huge slate of potential subject matter, combined (as you say) with new digital technology. Content really is king at the moment. Tech is a bit of a sideline if invested in a specific product, it will come and go with the competition etc. | cephalosaurus
29/10/2015 10:33 | I think the 4D cinemas have a big novelty effect that's likely to run for several years as they are rolled out - also think escapism is one of the few things that everyone enjoys in good times and bad - will be a big driver going fwd imo, more than many realise. Didn't know G.Sachs had been deramping but if they have I read that as a positive from them - the 'vampire squid' as they are known. All imo CR | cockneyrebel
29/10/2015 10:23 | The question you have to ask yourself guys and girls is; where do I invest? Right now are some stocks which will blow the roof off. Can you pick them? Can I? Who knows!! But you can take a quick look at what is happening in the world, ask yourself if the next big thing is brewing, or whether the current mood means sentiment and money is drawn to something more simple, obvious and in existence already. Do you pick bottomed out oil stocks? Do you pick a miracle product with corrupt management like Quindell? Is too good to be true, is it staring me in the face, is Goldman Sachs deramping to get their clients in cheap? Is the house broker cooking the fat. Are clueless analysts predicting the prevailing trend as usual? Am I a ramper? Am I a deramper? Do I work for a boiler room? I will let you decide. P.S. I have a few thousand of these. Good luck. | cephalosaurus
29/10/2015 10:10 | Yep, having a push at £6 again, nice little bowl forming too imo. Yep, I know several people who have helped crash the booking offices with orders for Star Wars tickets D4v1db. Not my sort of thing but the fans are rolling about having orgasms at the thought of seeing it :-) All imo CR | cockneyrebel
29/10/2015 10:04 | Having another go at 600p?Agreed CR, I reckon Star Wars will smash every box office record going. I've already got my tickets! | d4v1db
28/10/2015 17:40 | "Admissions update Sign up to our Film Today email Read more Admissions numbers are in for September, and they show the lowest tally for any month this year, with 9.24m tickets sold. However, September is traditionally a weak period for cinema-going, likewise recording the lowest monthly admissions totals in 2012, 2013 and 2014. Admissions for the month are 8.5% up on September 2014, buoyed by hits including Straight Outta Compton, Legend and Everest. Overall, admissions are 7.2% up on 2014 for the first nine months of the year. Cinema owners have good reason to assume this robust increase will be sustained, given that the fourth quarter of the year includes Spectre, Star Wars: The Force Awakens and the final Hunger Games movie." | flyposter
