19/2/2003 09:41 | The only thing thats shocking about this is someone knew a profit warning was coming and traded accordingly!. Still thats the "City" for you. I'm still not buying yet, but a short term bounce to 35p is possible. | jelfsie

18/2/2003 10:55 | Unloved since it's bungled refusal to talk in 2000, and the on-going potential for Custos to dump its shares. Reliant on the low growth / deflationary food and industrial sectors, add to that problems of rising petrol costs, cut-throat competition, and rising insurance costs and you can see why SVC's margins are suffering. Some would say net Debt at £130M is beginning to look stretched against mkt cap. Having said that, the recent slide in the share price has brought the shares into interesting terratory IMO. OCF is reasonably steady at circa £70M a year, and it does have some excellent contracts, which means that VC funds will be dusting off their files below 50p. The controlling interest of the family shareholders will remain an obstacle, unless they take it private of course!!!. | jelfsie
18/2/2003 08:50 | anyone following this one ? not in yet but trying to establish the drop | pictureframe
13/2/2003 13:33 | Could it be as bad as the market says . The company says it will meet expectaions. The dividend yield is 15% and the share keeps falling | hybrasil
12/2/2003 14:41 | or a swan in a very cunning disguise. | jelfsie
12/2/2003 14:08 | If it walks like a duck, quacks like a duck there is every chance it is a duck, and a lame one at that. | the jock
11/2/2003 09:03 | I have been watching these fall and fall . Does anyone know the company. Is trading as bad as the share price indicates. | hybrasil
06/12/2002 17:09 | Anyone else think the 650,000 trade at the close is a BUY? Would suggest it mops up all the sells priced between 63p and 63.75p | strark
06/12/2002 15:15 | Looks like a big buyer in the background here? Number of large sells but price stays level. Would be handy if someone is stake building? | strark
03/12/2002 12:38 | No MBO in my opinion, can't see with the track record whom would back it, my moneies on a paper bid, backed and supported by Custos, break up two divisions, quick, become much smaller and very focused, take out all H/O overheads, bring them into existing infrastructure, shake out the non effect mgt, put a lot out to graze. Either way as hard as it must be these guys are great operators with a resonable IT platform. Just don't seem to get it integrated. As for Dr Roddeerick, he has promised and promised shareholder value, and hasn't delivered, I for one will be attending my first AGM next year. | bigmolly
03/12/2002 08:50 | divi held @ 2.65p must be around 11% for the year at this price | retchtub
26/11/2002 14:38 | have we seen the bottom small mark up to day from the low will there be a run up to results next tuesday when these move they go quickly any thoughts out there ? | retchtub
15/11/2002 20:14 | If you believe (as I do) that UK plc is about to hit the buffers then these guys will hurt but who cares ? The family are commited and can't bail out If you think UK plc is on the verge of a Gordon Brown inspired growth cycle of intergalactic proportions......... and pack away a few of these. Every dog has its day. Crufts Best In Class approaching for SVC. Maybe best in group. | ccnp
20/9/2002 12:56 | closed my sht today....may go lower but approaching asset value...so may be of interest as bid. take a look at dart ( drt) similiar track record, fall. | bigmolly
18/9/2002 17:04 | 600,000 sold at 64.5p today !!! | fastbuck
18/9/2002 14:06 | Should re-name this thread 'No one likes SVC' I seem to have seen more selling than buying for weeks now, with the profit warning from T & B above and the market makers taking on more stock they seem to be dropping the price. Down 4p so far today at 63-66p, down from 92p in the last three months despite saying they 'expect to make progress in the current year' i.e. hope not to record a fall in profits. | fastbuck |
