03/5/2006 20:45 | yes I see the yield may outweigh the rating on balance of prospects takeover potential and cashflow. Wont set the world alight of course. | hectorp
03/5/2006 18:34 | i was tempted today myself but the 06 pe is still approx 15 - not the cheapest, but i agree the yield perhaps outweighs the rating | upside potential

03/5/2006 10:51 | ah but how to buy sub 60? - mentioned in the Investors Chronicle Bearbull feature. its the free cash per share you see. | hectorp
28/4/2006 19:07 | This is starting to look very attractive when the yield and improving situation generally is taken into account. The fuel hike will be hurting right now but looking on a medium term perspective sub 60p is a fair buy. | warranty

05/2/2005 15:05 | stokie My thought was that 'accumulation' had taken place. not because they are likely bidders or have any particular information but because the intention is to move to 'markup' and then as the price rises ( they hope ) move into 'distribution'. Both of us are looking for a price rise and I don't suppose we are bothered about which way it comes. We may both be disappointed, no bid, markup fails to work, or no markup at all. In which case the price is likely to settle back to approx 63p. There does appear to be some movement in the logistics sector currently so maybe we are being carried along on its coat tails. 04/2/2005 23:15 | bracke, I bought these shares last year for the divvy, a possible re-rating, and plenty of consolidation withinn the sector as a bonus. In reference to your first statement "Have you considered that there is no bidder and that what we are seeing is maybe no more than accumulation followed by markup in the hope by those who accumulated that the markup will kickstart a price rise after which they sell." This doesn't seem much of solid stratergy imo....ie. buy loads of x-stock and everybody will want a piece. Perhaps a more likely tactic is that they're accumulating because they know of likely contracts or they themselves are a prospective bidder or venture company. Lastly, "I may have got the wrong end of the stick but if you wanted to take the company over would you trade the shares the way it has been done recently and draw attention to the share?" This is exactly what I was trying to say in post 107 and previous. Hope this explains my position , good luck, heres hoping I have a better friday night next week! Cheers stokie | stokieboy
04/2/2005 16:21 | Wait for consolidation with the peace of mind in a fat dividend :) | johnpaul1
04/2/2005 15:44 | stokie boy Have you considered that there is no bidder and that what we are seeing is maybe no more than accumulation followed by markup in the hope by those who accumulated that the markup will kickstart a price rise after which they sell. Just to be clear about my own motives. I am a holder of these share and have been for somewhile. I am not shorting them. I will be watching the price and volume very carefully to see if they do take off or whether they fall back. I may have got the wrong end of the stick but if you wanted to take the company over would you trade the shares the way it has been done recently and draw attention to the share? 04/2/2005 09:37 | I see that Exel has started to climb again, currently up 18p. Are we being 'dragged' up by the influence of the possible takeover of Exel, ie market consolidation, or are we going up because of a general improvement in market sentiment of SVC I see that Stocktrade will sell you online a max of 500 shares at 65p, ie full price but are prepared to buy off you 25000 shares at 63.1p, a little premium to get your shares! . Stocktrade now offering to buy 25000 shares at 64.27p and not the indicated 63p. Something must be about to break. | aos |
