FWIW: I like CCT and have done well out of it. However: CCT now has a high Slater PEG - currently 3.84, according to ShareScope. I moved on from CCT a few weeks ago, mainly for this reason. There are plenty of other stocks with far more attractive PEGs, with an equally exciting or better investment outlook.

Technically, it could be argued that the share price has either topped out or, at best, is in a major consolidation phase. Having said that, if the price does now break to the upside - it might make up for lost time.

2 weeks or so until the results and frankly I feel that I am flying a bit blind here! Fwd rolling PE of 12.1 looks undemanding, and other metrics like ROCE and ROE look good. Simon Thompson at IC seems positive, but no broker upgrades and price action reflects this. It is starting to look a bit of a punt, although the products seem good - but are they selling? No real guide from the institutions which on balance seem to be selling a bit more than buying.

Anyone have any thoughts - p.s. what ever happened to Fido!?

Yummy Nummies won the 2015 Australian Toy Association’s Craft & Activity Toy of the Year award.
Is this one of Character's toys worldwide excluding US?

r1singson - Stockopedia hs been around for a couple of years now. It is very good and has excellent screening facilities. My only real gripe is that it doesn't show PBT forecasts (it uses net profits). Also be aware that it's sector classification system is different from that used by the FT and Sharescope.

Well I think they could certainly afford it as the div cover is so high, but looks like BoD pretty much keep final div in line with interims.

Agree with your forecast range for turnover from my own research but a reported increase I think will cause share price to continue upward after recently stagnating.

Off topic but has anyone here got any experience of using stockopedia, must say its interface looks very good but it's kind of a new entrant to the market. It looks like they have a facility for future earnings based on brokers estimates - very useful.

Are we going to see a doubling of the dividend to 12p? putting the yield back to
3%
t/o to 115-120m

this is the key period to Feb for the company, will the increase in population, growth, and children of under 6 translate into success and growth in market share.

all the profit is being channelled back to directors, salaries bonuses and share buybacks and options, when do shareholders get the benefit of a return other than share speculation gains.

its been rewarding but substance is needed and a confidence to raise the dividend would be good.

I read the Daily Mail Teletubbies review. His main complaint wasn't about the quality of the programme, but that nothing much had changed...same four teletubbies, etc.

Very poor review of the Ceebiees TV Telebubbies in today's Daily Mail By Chris Stevens.
Hope that this is not an omen?

I see on Character's website that the Clangers Soup Dragon and Iron Chicken collectable figures are showing out of stock.
Is that good or have we only done a low production run until the new generation gets hooked on the Clangers?

toy industry analyst for the NPD Group, said British retailers were hoping for a record year after Disney's Frozen, Minions and Minecraft boosted sales by 6 per cent since the start of the year.

He said: "With other licensed merchandise such as Star Wars still to come, the market could expect to grow by over £100 million at retail to reach £3.2 billion by the end of the year.

Last year we had news from the company around this week regarding its toys appearing on suggested lists of favourite toys for Cristmas. Presumably to whet the appetite ahead of them publishing preliminary figures in a few weeks time.
Perhaps news coming this week?!

once results are in it depends what they are , any surprises how christmas is playing out, and if there is competition for the shares, buy backs will also restart after christmas unless there is bid talk.

market reaction is unknown to in line results or just over , and the dividend level may be key.

Partners secured by CPLG include: Ravensburger, on board to produce themed puzzles; MV Sports for wheeled and outdoor toys; andInternational Greetings, for the arts-and-crafts category. CPLG has also signed up Gemma to produce greeting cards and Rainbow Productions for costume characters of Tinky Winky, Laa Laa, Dipsy and Po. DHX Brands has also recently appointed Character Options as global master toy partner.

The new 60-episode series of Teletubbies has been commissioned by the UK’s CBeebies and is being produced for DHX Media by award-winning UK production company, Darrall Macqueen Ltd. It will feature the same well-loved characters but will bring a refreshed, contemporary look to one of the world’s most well-known pre-school properties, ensuring that it is relevant for a new generation.

Peter Byrne, EVP, DHX Brands comments: “There has been a phenomenal response from the licensing community to the newTeletubbies and we are delighted to welcome on board these ’best-in-class’ partners, who will help to set the ball rolling on the eagerly anticipated consumer products program.”
