01/12/2015 11:49 | Character is one of Simon Thompson's favourite shares. I will wager that he will give it a leg up in the next week or so. | ramridge
01/12/2015 11:46 | Star Wars enthusiasts are very different to your teletubbies, peppa pig and scooby doo buyers. | ramridge
01/12/2015 11:37 | I sold mine today, despite the excellent results. I think the problem here is the share buybacks. While these are ongoing and the amounts of shares the company will take back is unknown, its difficult to value the company. I reckon share price will stay around this level, as it has done, until the buybacks are finished. I have to say I was irritated by the Dr Who limited editions last month. If you're in the business of selling toys, you should sell as many of them as possible rather than limit their numbers. I'll bet they'll be Star Wars toys in their gazillions and that leads me to the other reason for the sell, Star Wars. It'll just hoover up everything and like the deathstar, SW toys will blow away the competition in the short term. | naos
01/12/2015 10:52 | Figures are good...maybe just not as exciting as everyone was hoping. Adjusting for the mark to market credit this year and the charge last year - 2015: 12.27-2.05 = £10.22m profit before tax 2014: 7.11+1.93 = £9.04m profit before tax That's an increase of 13% on last year's PBT. It's difficult to calculate a new 'adjusted' PE, but best guess... If we take the £2.05m credit from the PAT figure of £10.239m (not completely accurate I know, but should underestimate the 'adjusted' PAT and not overestimate it) then 'adjusted' PAT is £8.189m So basic eps is 8189000/21085023 = 38.8p Current price of 495p gives a PE of 12.75 (looks like good value to me) Let's not forget that the Teletubbies license is a global one and may lead to other global licenses if all goes well. All IMO and DYOR. | mr_spock
01/12/2015 09:29 | You also have to adjust out the previous year's one-off loss on forex for a true comparison ramridge. Still impressive results, excellent cash generation and significant dividend hike. | darlocst
01/12/2015 09:24 | Hi Rrt - OK so adj OP = 10.5m which gives +40% increase. That still represents huge operational gearing. | ramridge
01/12/2015 09:06 | Hi ramridge, margins flattered by a £2m one-off gain on a foreign exchange contract.Rrt | redrumtum
01/12/2015 08:36 | Operational gearing is superb. A 1% increase in revenues results in 67% increase in operating profits. Free cash flow £17m; around 17% of market value adj EPS 45.7 +80% and above broker forecasts Debt free Looks like a cash machine to me. All IMO and please DYOR | ramridge
01/12/2015 08:26 | Agreed that H2 revenues were disappointing - presumably down to the fall in international sales (not enough detail given to back this assumption up). International sales now said to be back on forecast. | glaws2
01/12/2015 08:14 | Can't help but be bit disappointed with this Interims seemed to suggest full yr would be in well excess of £100m sales | r1singson
01/12/2015 07:34 | character surely has to be on the radar of larger companies within this sector, quite what a reasonable takeout price would be though ... with current results character should be trading at a level £5.50 - £6 in due course in my opinion. lets see what happens today | stoxx67
01/12/2015 07:29 | company has 8 m assets so overall value ~100m plus those looks like a significant uplift is in order still dividend satisfactory, cash for buybacks again trading doing well this year. | mcartdon
01/12/2015 07:22 | Key financials: Year ended 31 August % change 2015 2014 Ø Group revenue £99.05m £97.89m last year +1.2% £12.27m Ø Group profit before income tax £7.11m last year +72.6% Ø EBITDA £13.93m £9.78m +42.4% Ø Basic earnings per share 48.56p 27.66p +75.6% 6.00p Ø Proposed dividend 11.00p - total for the year 3.95p last year 7.25p +51.9% +51.7% Ø Cash generated from operations £18.25m £8.46m +115.7% Ø Net cash £4.53m £(4.51)m | mcartdon
01/12/2015 07:20 | Headline results look superb - beats EPS forecasts by 25% and dividend raised by 50% - again smashing forecasts. Only negative comment seems to be weaker international sales. Outlook comments very bullish. | glaws2
01/12/2015 07:18 | good results all the same... | stoxx67
01/12/2015 07:16 | Looks like CCT will have to re-issue their results to correct this year's and last year's dividend, both of which have been stated incorrectly in the body of the RNS albeit correctly at the top. | shanklin
30/11/2015 20:01 | Not much discussion on this recently have people sold? one buyer picking off the shares and setting the pace, no buybacks so what's tomorrow to bring? not a disappointment but any excitement? better dividend, better t/o. expansion abroad, higher profit and eps. how much effect the pound at 1.50? Hows Christmas? the shops are selling more for a change! and the market is growing, guess we will see at 7.30 AM. much bigger dividend would be appreciated showing confidence. | mcartdon
30/11/2015 10:52 | Up 3% today, a bit of news leakage happening perhaps ahead of the prelims tomorrow. | bruceylegs
26/11/2015 09:34 | Tuesday morning for results, | mcartdon
24/11/2015 08:31 | No share buybacks since early in the year, what is the cash generation for? 8m earned since then. Raised dividend is possible welcome alternate, they have said buybacks will continue? But with stake building going on with a willing buyer hoovering up all shares sold at 5£, do they compete for shares or are they planning further investment in worldwide operation and licences or some other defence to a large stakeholder. More information next week will be welcome, best defence is success exceeding expectations. | mcartdon
24/11/2015 07:45 | h1a3 - results are released 1st December 2015 | squibno1
23/11/2015 00:08 | Toy market growing at 7% Global toy sales rise 7 per cent ahead of Christmas, says NPD golden bear looks a good match for character, would a union be an advantage t/o 20m | mcartdon
22/11/2015 23:21 | First week of December? | orange1
22/11/2015 22:21 | Looking at 2014, CCT provided a trading update in the first week of December. Any ideas when we will have an update? | h1a3
19/11/2015 07:25 | Just thinking on a positive note with Christmas coming up and aparently people with spare cash in their pocket should sales be good this year? Therefore next update in new year with increased sales should see an uplift? | daveb12 |
