Issuing an RNS mid morning there is really no excuse for this, and the wording is rather lacklustre. No surprise that I sold my remaining shares today.

Agree with that Redrum.Very poor service to existing holders.

I sold 75% of my holding a while back to let the rest run free.Not sure how to take the RNS.

The RNS itself was hardly worth the cost of issuing.No meat on the bones at all.
Share buybacks could be seen as a positive.

Was hoping for a better update than that and sold a large chunk of my holding.

Maybe I miss something but meeting market expectations means doing EPS of 38p while H1 was already over 35p!? As such I was looking for an update along the lines of 'significantly exceeds'!

Positive news that they are ready to buy back more shares which should provide good support.

With TV expenditure in mind, the article on pages 70-71 is also of interest.

It should also be noted that we have a "My Little Pony" movie being released soon which will benifit Characters own range of my little pony products.

Dr Who was also heavily represented at BBC Worldwide press event recently to launch a new range of toys for Christmas.

And then of course, the Teletubbies hit the screens in November.

Character last year were 5th in the table of TV advertising spend. This year they are 3rd behind only the big boys, having nearly tripled their marketing spend this year. That alone implies that Character are gearing up for bigger things.

Yes, and a good many other companies too.
As I said though, Character learn`t a very valuable lesson from that episode that enabled Character to whether the recession and come out in good shape. That well learn`t wisdom of the importance of stock control has served them well ever since.

Character are not involved in the Star Wars license. They and a great many other companies got stung the last time round. Character learn't a huge lesson from that experience thàt has benifitted them ever since with stringent stock controls.

2 X U/T trades @ £5.24 & £5.27 today.
Plenty going on behind the scenes, both from a company perspective and with the share price that is being controlled by the market to suit certain players.
All will be revealed in good time but while the figures to be released soon will be very positive they will still be looking back when the real interest is what lies ahead. In that respect it speaks volumes that Character has nearly tripled its marketing spend this year and is gearing up for an extensive marketing campaign across several brands in the run up to Christmas.
As I`ve said before, the real excitment is with the roll out of worldwide sales and my information suggests that this is all going to plan.

Odd day bought 4k at 9 am and at 508 but trade never showes jumps to 524 at end day. perhaps they were surprised by several buys and had to fish for sellers at lower prices to cover?

In a week the update will clarify the year, and trading, and set up the next years prospects. Some re rating by stockbrokers covering due.

If trading update is positive and informative, with this tight a market how will it be possible to buy back near these levels?if the company continues to want to.
share split might help

Dividend should be higher with the cover we have.

Will we see 120m T/O? at December, 12-15p dividend?

Looking at CCT website, we can expect a trading update in September. Last year it was on 8th.
It will be very interesting to read CCT's views of the toy market and the effects of the current turmoil in China, ie yuan currency devaluation and that CCT buy in USD, the decline in container transportation costs etc.
The good news is the stock price is holding up well compared to the main markets.
Finally as always, it would be good to have an update from Fido.

Character Options is to work jointly with Twentieth Century Fox Consumer Products and HeadStart to launch a new range of toys and collectibles for The Simpsons.

Any one know when these are due to hit the shelves?

The problem with this share is lack of liquidity, that's why it got hammered on Monday. Fortunately it has rebounded, but beware if we don't get a rebound next time. Finding a buyer for these in a falling market may prove to be a difficult.

Yes uptrend broken I think we could see further falls as investors lock in any gains made this year. It would be a shame to lose that profit with such a volatile market at the moment you can't blame them.

Wow! Don't believe it..... While many stocks are dropping quite significantly and I was waiting for CCT to get down to below 500p for a purchase it still refuses to budge much. That is great for holders and shows what a good hold this must be, but please CCT drop back for a short time and give some of us a chance to get in lower ;-)

he has transferred them to tops pension fund, so retaining interest at 530. despite realising his gain within the aim director rules tax free. positive
that tops has them now.
