16/11/2017 12:59 | Portside you said you bought for the dividend. | supermarky
16/11/2017 12:51 | in my view I think CONN is not up to the job . we need a ceo /chairman with forward thinking vision clear the debt . cancel the div till its clear . and stop scrip divs | portside1
16/11/2017 12:48 | hsm debt comes at a cost all good run companies get rid of debt as soon as possible it saves a lot of money 2.9b is far to high . the 600m paid in divs should inmy view be better spent on either reducing shares issue or cutting debt either way would push the share price higher , and remember scrip divs givs directors more bonuses fact ham remember this they reduced debt over the last 12 months with some off the profits that is why it would only take 3 years to clear the debt completely | portside1
16/11/2017 12:45 | Nortic, the one good thing that could happen if this Was Ground Hog day would be that someone would know how to solve it in the end. ;-) | capeview
16/11/2017 12:44 | Every small rise attracts the sellers, but it will turn. | andyj
16/11/2017 12:25 | CNA seems to have an allergic reaction to 170. I think I know how Bill Murray felt :) | nortic 007
16/11/2017 12:23 | Well if Corbyn intends to nationalise it why not load it up with a few extra billion to be paid back to creditors. After all the labour party's idea of a solution to a debt problem is to add more debt.....lol | pineapple1
16/11/2017 11:55 | Anley, no I am not. The script divi dilutes the mcap and the divi payments increase year on year. If they stop the script, they only have one payment to make. | gaffer73
16/11/2017 11:37 | Portside. With2.9bn of debt - I make that 5 x years of divi's cancelled???. Having debt can be a good thing for companies - as long as its a manageable level and good terms. I would perfer 1/3 reduction in divis (£200m). This could be spend on either share buy backs. Keeps a balance of attractive yield and captial increase in share price. | hamhamham1
16/11/2017 11:31 | CNA PAYS OUT 12P A YEAR ON 5B YEARS 600M USE THE MONEY TO REDUCE DEBT THE share price WOULD MORE THAN OFFSET THE DIV FACT OVER 3 YEARS NO DEBT . BUT share price WELL OVER 260P | portside1
16/11/2017 11:28 | Rough. CNA announced a while ago that they needed to close Rough due to aging and safety reasons. I guess this news is good that the accompanying historic undertakings have been removed??? (saving Centrica from potential excessive financial exposure???) - hxxps://www.energyvo | hamhamham1
16/11/2017 11:27 | to so that do not understand the best of buying back stock . stop the divs to buy back stock cancel the shares . div reduced going forward and no more debt or even pay off the debt | portside1
16/11/2017 11:12 | PORTSIDE.........if CNA were to buy back stock then their debt level would increase which is against the policy of CONN to get gearing down to a more managable level. GAFFER.........no you are wrong - just look at the statement Shell has made about that topic.........they want to save and lower expenses as well. Both topics are very complicated when you have such large businesses as Shell and CNA. | anley
16/11/2017 11:10 | looking back I sold over 45000 of these at 242p right at the top and did post to say I had was in Ibiza | portside1
16/11/2017 11:08 | next Thursday CONN will have to speak , and if its not good will have to go | portside1
16/11/2017 10:44 | centrica need to buy back stock at these levels , if our ceo / chairman are up to running this company its common sense to buy back stock now not spend the cash on future . | portside1
16/11/2017 09:36 | Its a nice string to the bow but am glad it's not a heavy focus anymore for Centrica. There is loads of oil / gas / LNG production coming online now. Its a tricky business with the threat of the US turning on the shale taps as soon as the market price gets high enough. Shale production is so nimble. I think Centra's trading and marketing arm can hopefully get the benefits of bulk purchase/supply at the right market price against the huge investment costs needed to actually get the stuff out the ground. | hamhamham1
16/11/2017 09:17 | What a superbly laid out website for the project by Wintershall. Concise, explanatory, great diagrams and well laid out time frames. I know it's sad to complement a website but so many companies seem to just chuck up a load of info (usually too much) and understanding what is there is often very hard. Well Done :) - hxxps://www.wintersh | hamhamham1
16/11/2017 09:09 | I should have said UK basket (case)! | supermarky
16/11/2017 09:08 | Excellent news. It would seem Mr Conn is doing good work restructuring the business and hopefully making sure not too many eggs are in the UK political basket. I will reinvest my dividend payment but I'm not adding any more than that. | supermarky
16/11/2017 09:05 | The further away from the UK the better. | nortic 007
16/11/2017 08:37 | Well, if it is, whatever you do DON'T try and grope it ! | masurenguy
16/11/2017 08:35 | This could also be the start of a rounded bottom. Wtf do I know | supermarky |
