They have well & truly snookered themselves....something or other will always hinder rates from going up....the only way rates will go up is if a currency collapses...

Reckon Mark Carney job is no longer safe. Whether we like to believe it or not there's political influence in BoE policies.

Personally i'd like to interest rates rise.

"So, Mark Carney thinks it's OK for him to make political comments, and support the BBC Brexit Project Fear, but it's not acceptable for anyone to criticise him and his "policies".
RJ,
Carney's excuse for QE is to encourage investors and bond holders to invest in riskier investments - yet the BoE won't do that with their pension fund. The man executed policies based on predictions that never came to be, and he has been to arrogant to admit he gambled wih the UK economy and it didn't pay off. Meanwhile the BoE is sitting nicely, with a big fat SAFE pension fund courtesy of UK taxpayers, while prodding everyone else to take bigger risks. Marvellous accounting, I'm sure.

Mark Carney hit back angrily at the Prime Minister's claim this month that his policies had damaged the interests of savers, pensioners and the young.

Theresa May has been accused at the High Court of attempting to start the Brexit process by unlawfully using ancient executive powers under the royal prerogative.

In one of the most important constitutional cases in generations, a QC argued the prime minister had no legal power to trigger Article 50 of the Lisbon Treaty to leave the European Union without the prior authorisation of Parliament.
