Auto Trader’s maiden results were strong with revenues and underlying operating profit rising 8% and 35% respectively to £256m and £133.1m. Net debt was £528m (net debt / EBITDA: 3.4x (2014: 7.2x). Full page advert views advanced 7% to 226m per month while traffic is now nearly 70% from mobiles / tablets.
Numis notes that the group will enjoy cyclical tail winds from the buoyant used vehicle market that will be reinforced by structural migration online as well as new products and services. In particular Numis picked out iControl, the group’s Managing tool that enables a retailer to optimise the pricing of its inventory, thereby dramatically increasing stock turn and ultimately profit.
The broker has upgraded eps forecasts by 6% to 11.5p for the year ending March ’16 and by 7% to 13.2p for ’17.
The shares have inched to a new high, thanks to buying from FTSE 250 tracker funds, but are still a buy.

Been adding here recently. Dominant position and brand recognition; strong car market at the mo; prospective FTSE250 promotion. Reminds me of RMV and we know what happened there over the last few years. dyor

If you only know in general terms what you want and have the cash it will probably work well. You take a risk and usually make a good saving. I normally buy my cars at auction. Choice of 500? cars, from 1000 -> 40000

There's a website, I think by paying 5 pounds or something you can access their list of cars for a few months
