Hi all, My mate Peter @Conkers3 and myself did a ‘Twin Petes Investing’ Podcast a few days ago and part of our discussion covers AUTO and I reckon the Car Retail sector looks very interesting now. We also chatted about loads of other Stocks and as always a fair bit of general Portfolio Management educational stuff. Anyway, if you use Apple, Audioboom, Overcast or Spotify you can find it under the 'Conkers Corner' Channel (you want TPI Podcast 27) and you can find it on Soundcloud at the link below. I hope you enjoy it and find it useful, Cheers, WD @wheeliedealer hTTps://soundcloud.com/user-479955511/conkers3-wheeliedealer-27-covid19-vaccine-hopes-azn-clin-ipf-vtu-auto-sfor-mpac-net

Inorganic growth, no point paying up for that. The US market is taken. Rightmove and Zoopla are good examples that once an online marketplace has established itself, customers will trust the incumbent platform if it's realiable and easy to navigate. Same with autotrader and vehicles, yes one could put up a car ad on Facebook and people do. The problem is anyone can start a Facebook account and FB need not be accountable for how business transactions are done.

I wonder if AT has considered a bid for CARS.com in the US? Recently spun from a big publisher, CARS.com could be useful in that AT could migrate platform and win large slice of the US auto market. Just a thought. Salty.

There has been a free online site for many years called preloved.co.uk that could have been used but like twofacebook not sure about any come backs. Also if a VG service has been given despite the cost quite a few people won’t mind paying for that.

I suppose the only danger is there is no crying to Facebook if anything goes wrong. I imagine auto trader must have something in place for disputes.

Ominous Breakout Yesterday? Sellers in the back ground? MM's generating liquidity to dump to breakout traders? Yesterday I got short (again). Sometimes entries can take a few attempts. Anyway... I've commented enough on this stock so for now... Peace out.

Indeed. I stand by my thesis. However, I admit... On this occasion my call on timing was wrong. I will be watching this one closely - maybe a false breakout will materialise?! ATB.
