17/10/2013 08:03 | Interesting to checkout this ABDP competitor. "CSA Group is an independent, not-for-profit member-based association dedicated to advancing safety, sustainability and social good. We are an internationally-accr | masurenguy
16/10/2013 23:00 | Extremely relevant RNS tonight regarding the takeover of another auto testing company! With global auto markets improving fast, this just shows how attractive ABDP's niche is, whether as an independent entity or as an acquisition target: Extracts: "CSA Group Acquires UK-Based mi Technology Group as Part of Strategic Growth Plan in Automotive Testing Sector FRANKFURT, GERMANY--(Marketwire "The acquisition of mi Technology Group is key to CSA Group's global growth strategy in the transportation and commercial vehicle testing sector," says Magali Depras, Vice President for Europe, CSA Group. "We have rapidly expanded our automotive testing capabilities in Germany and North America for traditional and alternative vehicle technologies, and this acquisition allows us to further expand our global service offerings to mi Technology's client base. mi Technology's clients, together with CSA Group's existing clients, include some of the most technologically advanced and recognized automotive brands in the world, and this acquisition will enable one-stop shopping and further synergies for current and new customers." mi Technology's test and development centre provides vehicle testing in the areas of environmental impact, engine performance and emissions, powertrain, structural integrity, durability, and noise, vibration and harshness (NVH). Key areas of focus include passenger cars, commercial vehicles, and off-highway machines, as well as aerospace, oil and gas, rail, power generation and industrial sectors for the UK and parts of Europe. "mi Technology Group is an established and recognized brand in the automotive sector with a history of more than 30 years in the UK", said Martin O'Leary, Managing Director of mi Technology Group "By joining CSA Group, mi Technology will now have the resources needed to expand its automotive testing reach to new markets in Europe, Asia and North America as well as the ability to build on emerging business in sectors such as aerospace, oil and gas and industrial." | rivaldo
16/10/2013 09:25 | Good point Wyle. From ABDP's point of view though, it's the global growth of the auto sector which is key, and which is why they're opening offices in China et al to capitalise on their existing sales overseas. It appears that the auto sector is slowly recovering and that steady growth should aid ABDP's plans. | rivaldo
16/10/2013 08:47 | Riv, I notice that VTU issued a positive statement today, I would like to think that that the good news in the automotive industry will read across to here. I might even consider topping up here. I see someone has already made a trade this morning... | wylecoyote
15/10/2013 12:25 | Riv, of course. The role itself was interesting, it has clearly been created to fill a gap(i.e. Expanding) and not because it was a vacant role. A responsible and skilled role at that. I would just like to think that they have done their sums and that this new role will generate an income. As it should do in the new premises...;-) | wylecoyote
15/10/2013 08:47 | Wyle, the point of post 85 was nothing to do with the jobs vacancy itself! The point was in the detail: - "Its many automotive clients include Ford, Toyota, Daimler, GM, BMW, Volkswagen and Honda" - "Due to recent growth in sales and the desire to develop new products......" - "the opportunity to work on new systems currently under development" - "the installation of equipment at customer research and development facilities" These snippets are pretty encouraging alongside the newspaper articles I posted earlier. | rivaldo
14/10/2013 17:36 | Hey Riv, interesting find... I will have a look on the site later. I am assuming that this roles requires a decent investment and as such abdp will have done their sums on making such an investment. The problem in the uk is getting the right ppl on at the right price. | wylecoyote
14/10/2013 15:44 | Interesting stuff in a new jobs vacancy... hxxp://jobs.thisisbr "INDUSTRIAL MOTION CONTROL ELECTRICAL ENGINEER Anthony Best Dynamics is one of the world's leading designers and manufacturers of advanced laboratory test machinery used for vehicle development. 11/10/2013 15:53 | just bought at 125.75 | cnx
11/10/2013 09:01 | Rivaldo, thank you for that. D. | aylingd
10/10/2013 10:40 | Aylingd, always ignore the published spread and try dummy trades online to get the true picture. At present you can only buy a maximum 3,500 shares online at 126p, whilst you can sell 5,000 at 123.75p. So that's reassuring - but you'll notice the spread is a lot smaller at 123.75p-126p than you might think. In addition, ABDP is very tightly held, with 92% held by the major shareholders, so the price moves fast on any buying (or selling): I'm hopeful that imminent good news re the 31/8 year end will lead to a decent spike in the share price. | rivaldo
10/10/2013 09:22 | Interested in buying here but spread is putting me off. Also seems to be very low volume being traded. Is this tightly held ? D. | aylingd
09/10/2013 16:05 | a bit disappointing really... the jump yesterday looked interesting. Then a seller entered again at 130.0p. However, I may think about getting some extra funds if it starts to bounce from 120.0p again. | wylecoyote
09/10/2013 08:13 | Encouraging to the price ticking up already on a buy of just 755 shares... EDIT - oh well, shame about the 5k seller! | rivaldo
08/10/2013 13:54 | Looking rather good today.... | rivaldo
04/10/2013 11:37 | Not directly relevant but a good car industry can only benefit ABDP... | wylecoyote
03/10/2013 15:59 | Excellent riv, thanks. Obviously going alright then! :-) Hopefully a trading update of sorts will appear soon. | cfro
03/10/2013 15:17 | I spoke to the FD again as no year end update yet - he confirmed that this was simply because these were the company's maiden results post-IPO, and with the auditors now being in they wanted to make sure everything was absolutely nailed down. I advised that a trading update was always preferable before year end results, even to confirm that trading was in line. He noted this and said they'd consult with the NOMAD accordingly. Here's another good local article, noting that the factory is "choc a bloc"! And this quote says it all... ""We close the books at the end of this month and figures are pretty much where we thought they would be": hxxp://www.thisisbat "Automotive firm grows to meet rising demand Friday, September 06, 2013 A new £500,000 facility has been opened in Bradford on Avon to help an automotive firm meet demand as orders soar. Engineering firm Anthony Best Dynamics (ABD) has officially opened its new factory extension despite plans to move to larger facilities in two years' time. The company, which provides international car manufacturers with testing and measurement products for vehicle suspension, brakes and steering, plans to move to the new Kingston Farm development in Bradford in Avon by 2015 where it hopes to double its workforce. However, managing director Tim Rogers said demand was so high for its products that the company had no choice but to expand or risk losing key contracts. "We are looking to build a new factory up the road in two years time but it's been important to get some new facilities up and running. "It's a new annexe but we've built it to quite a high standard. We've done this to let the staff know we are developing the product, let the community know we are committed to the area and let our investors know we are improving our capacity. "At the moment the factory is absolutely choc-a-bloc." Earlier this year ABD launched on the London Stock Exchange to raise the £2.5 million needed for its expansion. The money will be used to fund the new factory, further recruitment and establishing a presence in Asia. Mr Rogers added: "We close the books at the end of this month and figures are pretty much where we thought they would be. The automotive market has started to spend and open up, particularly in areas such as Japan and China where key customers are." "We are now above where we were before the downturn." "We don't want to be in a position where we have to turn down orders." | rivaldo
30/9/2013 09:02 | For me its still a takeover stock. Maybe GKN or Ricardo. | penny share
26/9/2013 10:52 | This all sounds good: hxxp://www.thisiswil "Expansion for dynamic Bradford on Avon firm 10:00am Wednesday 11th September 2013 DESIGN and manufacturing company Anthony Best Dynamics in Bradford on Avon has accommodated its growing success with a new multi-purpose building. The 2,000 square foot cedar wood building now provides a conference room, workshop for electrical assembling and space to assemble test equipment. Anthony Best, 76, founded the company, which specialises in noise, vibration, and suspension engineering services to the automotive industry, in 1982. He hopes that planning permission will be given for the Kingston Farm development in Holt Road, so that the company will be able to move into the proposed factory on site. Mr Best said: "The new building creates an additional 20 percent of space which will help alleviate the congestion that we have in the shop, prior to hopefully getting the new factory. "We really want to get in to it as soon as possible as it will increase employment by almost three percent. We need space to meet the demand." The new building, which took five months to build and cost over £300,000, is energy efficient with solar panels and is heated by an air sourced heat pump. Mayor John Potter cut the ribbon at the official opening last Thursday, and said: "Bradford on Avon is a jewel in this part of the country but this factory is a shining diamond that makes beautiful engineering products that are sold all over the world."" | rivaldo
25/9/2013 17:41 | Looks like WyleCoyote's patience has today been justified. ;-) | cfro
25/9/2013 17:08 | Riv, of course you are right... I am just satisfied that this is trending now, especially since I brought in too quickly. It should cover my small loss now. I like this stock and the fundamentals are compelling and in my opinion is a good meduim to longer term investment. I also will act on your advice and get in touch with them. Please note that I am incapable of using the phone... Thanks | wylecoyote
25/9/2013 12:19 | Wyle, the info in my post 68 is MUCH more important and interesting than a couple of buys pushing the price up a few pence. Though obviously the latter is nice :o)) | rivaldo
25/9/2013 11:51 | riv, was that you buying some more then all of a sudden? Nice...;-) | wylecoyote
25/9/2013 11:34 | Interesting comment from Amati VCT's results just published: "AB Dynamics supplies automotive manufacturers with advanced testing and measurement products for vehicle suspension, brakes and steering. It is a long established and well respected business that was operating at capacity due to burgeoning demand and required funding to expand manufacturing capacity." | rivaldo |
