07/11/2013 20:36 | Strange how some ppl thought there wasn't much more to come here. Still I am happy to hold and wait to see what happens | wylecoyote
07/11/2013 17:51 | Prior to the results I was considering reviewing the company as I thought the business model was sound, but was skeptical over how much upside there really was based on revenue trends etc. It's fair to say that the results were well over my expectations. Well done to the ABDP board. Good luck to all investors in here - I hope you do very well. El1te | el1te
07/11/2013 13:30 | Still a lot more to come from this diamond, still think we will head into acquisition territory before too long. | penny share
07/11/2013 12:57 | Riv, Yes, it is very good news indeed. I have had a chance to read the report in more detail and have picked out the following, which is significant in my opinion. 'To meet demand, we have also relocated an UK ABD engineer to our distributor in Tokyo to support our Japanese and Korean customers.' This year we launched two new track testing products. The Soft Pedestrian Target and the new Guided Soft Crash Test Vehicle ("GSTV") both represent a new approach to vehicle safety testing allowing car manufacturers and test houses to evaluate (in a non-destructive way) vehicles fitted with the latest Advanced Driver Assistance Systems ("ADAS"). By having the test vehicles interacting in a precise and repeatable way with our moving pedestrian or vehicle soft targets, customers can safely calibrate their systems to meet real world needs. The Group received its first orders for both products from European research laboratories and we fully expect more orders to follow as the future Euro NCAP standards require the implementation of ADAS in vehicles. The contract value for each SPMM varies depending upon the options purchased but they typically are in excess of GBP1.5 million. Demand for our track testing equipment which includes the Soft Targets mention earlier, remain high with orders taking our production well into the third quarter of the current financial year. The last statement clearly suggests that the company is on target to hit annual revenues of between a third and half of last years revenues and we aren't even in November yet. Yes, the founder is clearly looking to generate an income. He may sell some more via a placing(just as long as he doesn't sell into the main market and go 'Sold to satisfy institutional demand'). A placing makes more sense. It is one of the reasons that I was a buyer here, the directors interests are aligned with our. Whereas most listings are about cashing in on their investment. | wylecoyote
07/11/2013 11:24 | Interesting to see what Charles Stanley's new forecasts will be - surely some big upgrades coming. Wyle, I'm pleasantly surprised by the dividend in view of the expenditure necessary for growth. Certainly cash flows are pretty impressive. I'm wondering if it has something to do with the founder's extremely large shareholding and his age. Maybe he's happy to receive divi income instead of having to sell down his holding at a time of such growth and potential (though I strongly suspect that at some stage he will place out some of his holding to increase the very limited liquidity). | rivaldo
07/11/2013 10:08 | cfro, well done for selling and cashing in a profit. However, I was happy to hold as the charts suggested good volumes and new highs, implying the Market was expecting decent results and I am quite happy to hold until the chart pattern has complete. | wylecoyote
07/11/2013 09:29 | For transparency and to be courteous to other posters, i did sell my holding before todays results. Not because i thought the results would disappoint but purely because the shares have had such a good run and i simply wanted to take profits. With the benefit of hindsight i should have waited as i did think the results were very good so hopefully i will get an opportunity to buy back in in the future. | cfro
07/11/2013 08:25 | Riv, I mulled over the possibilty that ABDP may pay a dividend. Especially since they have a fantastic cash flow, even in spite of their restructuring to support it's growth strategy(Incidently jamielein that may explain why they haven't been able to maintain their margins, but once they bed things down, it should improve). So the market have bought into their story and the rerating continues. A PE ratio of around 20 should be acceptable, but I may consider selling if it reaches 25. | wylecoyote
07/11/2013 08:20 | Don't forget there would have been a number of extra costs to the P&L in making the extension to the premises! | grahamhacker
07/11/2013 08:15 | Results look good. Decided to top up this morning. A PE of 15, £6m cash, good cash flow, intention to pay a dividend. The only negative is that profit didn't increase more. A 37% increase in revenue only lead to a 22% increase in profit. Overall pretty happy. Will be interesting to see where this ends up today. edit: I just realised that the 22% increase in profit included the one-off AIM listing costs. Once you add the 315k back, operating profit actually increased by 39%. | jamielein
07/11/2013 08:09 | Fantastic! Happy to hold, this company is going places. | nickg2
07/11/2013 07:46 | I've added a couple more notable points to my list in post 149, being the statement of a maiden dividend this year, which certainly isn't built in to current forecasts and may attract further institutional investors, and the impressive operating cash flows, as well as the increased capacity now on stream. | rivaldo
07/11/2013 07:28 | With a pe of 12, sounds good to me - well established company with good forward visibility | grahamhacker
07/11/2013 07:14 | Excellent, I am quite happy to hold. | wylecoyote
07/11/2013 07:10 | Terrific results today, well ahead of expectations. Plus: - a very strong outlook with high visibility of revenues - £6m of cash - much increased capacity/infrastruct - impressive operating cash flows - maiden dividend coming this year (this may pleasantly surprise the market) Adjusted EPS of 12.23p compares with forecasts of 9.89p EPS. And adjusted PBT of £2.18m before AIM admission costs compares with £2m forecasts. Some of the sells yesterday were mine, as I had rather a large position and didn't want to take chances in such an illiquid stock pre-results. I may live to regret those sells today! | rivaldo
06/11/2013 11:39 | How boring, traders selling out(chickening out?) and MM playing games... | wylecoyote
05/11/2013 15:18 | For Thursday's results I've requested that the presentation be made available to all on the company web site rather than just to the analyst-only meeting. | rivaldo
05/11/2013 08:04 | Nice start - buying at 177p now. | rivaldo
03/11/2013 16:52 | News just out - it's well worth watching the short video as the emergency stop managed by the sensors is pretty amazing: hxxp://www.abd.uk.co "1 November 2013 - EuroNCAP AEB results and video published EuroNCAP has published the first set of results from its AEB assessments of new cars, showing how the fitted systems performed under the conditions mandated by the new test procedure. The video includes an explanation of how AEB works, together with footage of a number of vehicles being tested. There is also an explanation of the robots used, and the ABD robots used by key EuroNCAP test partners Thatcham and ADAC are shown. Thatcham and ADAC use a variety of robots for these tests, including ABD's Torus, SR60 and SR15 steering robots, together with our BR1000, AR1 and CBAR pedal robots. ABD is the number one choice of EuroNCAP test partners, with UTAC (France), CSI (Italy), Idiada (Spain) and TTAI (Netherlands) also exclusively using our robots. 01/11/2013 18:30 | Raced to the finish. :-) | cfro
01/11/2013 16:37 | wow, is that all it took? A little bit of news coverage? Incredible. | wylecoyote
01/11/2013 15:38 | Many thx cfro. As you say, no new info, but it's good to see someone out there finally cottoning on to ABDP. | rivaldo
01/11/2013 14:51 | rivaldo, probably not right for me to copy the whole article here on a public bb so soon after publication, but suffice to say that the piece was very bullish. Nothing particularly in there tho that we dont already know. Just basically says that the IPO was to raise finance for the new facilities that is already bearing fruit with a £1.7M order for an unnamed Japanese car manufacturer. And the idea is to expand further into Asia where R&D spend at £2.5Billion+ is the most significant markets for automotive research. | cfro
01/11/2013 14:11 | Big buy at 170, 32K shares. | ryandj2222 |
