SparkyForward hedging contracts chap, your obsession with daily spot price has zero bearing on YU, unless Shell are having to buy in which case chasing a higher price is a negative IMO. But hey when has YU hedged on daily gas price - never, not their business model, any long term holder would know that.Have a good day :)

Or are you blatantly stating otherwise?.It's there for all to see in black and white. After the previous CFO messed up their accounts by overstating the key numbers the FCA got involved and Rawson took over as the new CFO. He then told the market in October 2018 that they would definitely make a profit the following year (FY19). He even told the house broker that he forecast a net profit of £5m for the year, 10 months into the year he changed his forecast to a net loss of £5.3m. Now that's all based on fact, so if you are saying it's not true then post up evidence to support your view.

Indeed I personally think shock and awe in the numbers this year, but apparently a PE of 8 is normal but a company in massive growth mode Fascinating really especially when the market actually wakes up and a double or triple of the share price still will not stretch the valuation We will get an insight soon enough once Rawson has finished with his abacus.

Sparky now assuming based on Cornwall Insights comments about supplier switching that it only means YU has gained customers!.But how about this: "Cornwall Insight has cut its 2024 power market price forecast for Britain by 12% to an average of £113/MWh."

Okay I thought after their investors day and subsequent collapse in the share price that the imminent results weren’t going to be good - a reasonable assumption but yes it was wrong, get over it chap I have.
As for your “collapse in energy prices” dig, I’ve never said that, I’ve said IMO it will normalise to pre Ukraine prices.

It’s clear you don’t really know what their business model actually is as you keep banging on about the daily gas price. Shell will be acquiring futures contracts for their estimated customer usage, so not OTC. But that said we don’t know how the immediate termination of the SmartestEnergy has left them vulnerable in terms of new customer usage mapping and whether they are indeed having to purchase whilst prices are in an upward trend (thus purchasing at a price in excess of customer contracted prices).
Why would someone who allegedly knows everything about the business and knows everything about the future not know their hedging (the majority) will be in forward commodity contracts!. As I’ve said all along, you sold up years ago as couldn’t believe your luck but now love the fantasy kudos you get here - why would anyone that’s 38 bagged be monitoring their only stock (allegedly) every minute of every day and get so upset when challenged about the absolute rubbish you post up (I can list all your gaffs if you like?).

This bit is also very interesting Notably, other-other switches more than doubled and large suppliers saw significant gains from small and medium suppliers.YU is classified by Cornwall insight as a large supplier as the 13th largest since Oct 23 So YU are part of that statement from energylive Excellent news and can't wait to see how many clients YU have gained so far in 2024 could be 100,000 isn't a stretch target anymore ?

I’ve so many fans over on YU I’m thinking of opening a twitter account for me and the hound. Note the other disco’s membership date and all his other handles, wink wink you know who!.

Anyway, so they reckon no rate rises are on the cards, no kidding!. Still need more data apparently despite the fact they’ve caused the wage increases in the first place…couldn’t really make it up!

SparkyHow much cash over the 5 year term with SmartestEnergy was collateral pa?, ramp that up a decent 10%-20% for Shell and that's how much they will be getting out of Bobby boy one way or another (plus a possible fixed fee?) all IMO and obviously DYOR.
