Shell UK Retail - a mitigated disaster and lost millions even after they pumped in £billions. They couldn't make a profit and couldn't wait to get rid.Were they hedging then?, YEP of course they chuffing were, just got it completely wrong, ooops.Let's hope they do a lot better for YU and their fee or whatever they are getting out of the deal doesn't eat into Bobby's margins too much!.

Oh forgot to add 1. Geo political problems persist globally, middle is a tinder pile just waiting for a spark 2. Russian continually sabre rattling 3. Chinese who knows what they have planned for Taiwan 4. North Korea , bunch of absolute nut cases 5. US election6. UK election Hmm and people think pre Covid energy prices, get real more chance of hitting over a 100p a therm in 2024 than back to 11p a therm But apparently Shell are terrible and out to screw YU over a tiny little upstart SME Energy supplier worth less than 275m compared to a gargantuan behemoth of an energy giant. But took 14 months to sign the deal, hmmm I think I know what most sane people think about it and the words everywhere were TRANSFORMATIONAL and it isn't really reflected at all in the SP

Some of the director sells from the 17th popping up today.Plenty of periods outside regulatory closed periods to sell, clearly that's what they've been doing.Someone posted elsewhere they could be offloading before Labour get in....but they (Labour) have clearly stated they won't be increasing CGT rate, so don't buy that either.

Not aware that a non exec chair would have to clear or authorise any share transaction of the directors. He's an independent third party, plus he himself has zero shares in the business,Tradertrev - if you could post up something to support your post I'd appreciate it. But it's not usually within their remit / authority to make such a decision, basically it's nothing to do with him although out of courtesy woukd imagine they've mentioned their intentions to him.

SparkyWhy would a helicopter accident caused by severe bad weather cause the gas price to go up and the world more risky?....despite who was onboard.You seem to think now that daily moves on spot price is of benefit to YU when Shell will be hedging on forward contracts.Don't doubt YU's update will look very good, but depends if good enough, in line won't be looked on too favourably IMO, but hey who cares right! :)

Yep. Also, let's apply for on-going, regulatory business with the High Court and then act unscrupulously behind the scenes. Makes all the sense in the world, right Matron :¬)

Been away while everyone vented over director sales, but my thoughts are:
Such a transaction would have to be cleared by the chairman, who is a very experienced City man;
There are limited windows when such a transaction can take place, due to "close periods";
The last thing BK would want to do (after 5 years of repair work) is to take a hit to their reputation for market conduct.
Roll on the next update, whenever that may be. I don't really care. Second largest holding in the portfolio and still holding tightly!

Sadly the world became a little more unstable after the death of the Iranian president at the weekend.Keep an eye on energy spot prices could be stable or could steadily rise. Who knows but more and more risks to the upside developing in my opinion.

Hi Sparky,
Yep - just 13 remaining now from 70 odd a few weeks back (one filled since last look, also some other vacancies non-specific).
So they will surely have the full squad they require up and running 100% for H2. I'm not sure if that was factored into the 100,000 target or could upgrade it. I'd suspect the latter on their under-promise over-deliver tactics previously...
Like they said, targeting 50% organic growth and 'significant' m/s growth they could easily surpass this with all the engineers in place. Where would that put the free cash by y/e...
*(Already cancelling prem acc £11.9M/special dividend and/or buybacks this year already intimated - £2 is £34M approximately and what they are intimating is being distributed). *
It's like you say, it could go insane at even 2-2.5% which is achievable with this expansion.
Not the sort of things that occur with a cautious CFO if you are just about to put out a set of s hite figures IMHO:-

'· Expect to deliver organic growth of c. 50% in FY24 despite lower commodity prices:

o £520m contracted revenue at end of 2023 for FY24 delivery (2022: £247m for FY23), plus strong bookings momentum and further non-contracted book.

o Board targets significant market-share growth (from current 1.4%)'.

* 'The Company's share premium account currently stands at approximately £11,908,911. As at 31 December 2023, the Company had
retained earnings of approximately £22,317,550. It is proposed that the Company's share premium account be cancelled (the "Capital
Reduction"). The proposed Capital Reduction is intended to increase retained earnings by an amount equal to the amount standing to
the credit of the Company's share premium account.
The purpose of the Capital Reduction is to create further distributable reserves in the Company to facilitate the future consideration of
payment of dividends (in cash or otherwise) to shareholders, where justified by the profits of the Company or to allow the redemption or
buy-back of the Company's shares (or other distributions to shareholders)'.
GLAGI.

Exactly, actually when is a good time to shift some shares from the management, actually never as people always take a negative view.Personally I fully expect they have knocked it out of the park the snippets are there if you look about.Good spot from Daveboy possible means smart meter targets to the upside ? Client 53.5k in Dec could be 70k by now or higher or lower this is the detail I want to see.PE of 8 for 2023 and another significantly ahead and all bets are off where we end up by year end. Fingers crossed
