The plot would surely be too simple if news was bad. Not the first time this would have happened across the markets though. I would imagine the directors will be acutely aware of the historic trust issue they made for themselves under a different CFO.

There's no right time for directors to sell. If they'd sold a few months ago the story would have been the same at the time.

If the news is bad after they have sold then all investors will lose confidence in the board. Why shouldn't they take some well earned profits? However if there's more to this than meets the eye they will have very quickly undone all the hard work and trust they have spent years earning My gut feel is there nothing to be worried about but then again......

Again you have answered your own question. That's what makes a market.

Greed would have stopped them selling it they believe it is undervalued. Having said that for a bunch of them to sell and then issue a poor trading statement soon after would be surprising. I have to say I don't trust them though. Nothing more than a hunch and I could be totally wrong but I didn't like their body language in the presentations.

Read into how you like but the next TU is now very important. If you believe it will be excellent YU is now a bargain, if not and you think directors are selling because they have inside knowledge which is in fact highly illegal then run for the hills.

You're exactly right. If they have no confidence in the company then why should anyone else?

SparkyYou have constantly slagged off folks for selling, you are a hypocrite. As I've posted, how can directors selling a significant proportion of their holdings be seen as okay, and "good for them", and not a negative sign?. Particularly when you've constantly spouted how undervalued this is and how it will hit £30 at H1, and recently you've said £60 at some point - so why would anyone sell at circa £17?. None of the directors needed to sell to meet tax obligations or a divorce settlement etc, if that was the reason it would have been stated in the RNS.IMO they are selling for very obvious reasons but as ever you don't see any bear points at all when it comes to your beloved YU.

Bemoan is a strong word, I found it odd with a dividend lock in days away why PIs would sell. No one knew directors would sell option they where allocated years ago.For the PIs that sold over the last 3 weeks good for them they can buy back in if they so wish a lot cheaper now. Magnificent trading if that was the intent.Still doesn't compute in my head as no one knew the directors sells would come 4 trading days prior to an AGM. What we have now is a stupid valuation based on assumptions because of Director sells so YU need to update the market on current trading. Which I believe will be outstanding yet again.

He has a point sparky. You are justifying director sells when you constantly bemoan pi's who sell. Can't have it both ways imo...

Sparky"When exactly are people meant to sell then ?"Deary me, you are something else chap, you slag off PI's for selling, but pat the spaniel on the head, now you are trying to justify that it's okay for directors to sell a significant proportion of their holdings....absolutely unbelievable. You see nothing negative in these sells?, really!, unbelievable.

Meant to add, Mr Dean has sold 88% of his shares that he did hold!, yes 88%.So to recap:- The MD of Retail sold over 52% of his holdings- The CFO has sold 55% of his holdings- The director of HR has sold 88% of his holdings.Mentioning what other options they are entitled too is simply trying to cloud the fact they are selling significant chunks of their holdings, but some folks next door are falling for it.Why are directors selling now?, particularly the CFO?, fairly obvious IMO, but hey DYOR.

Year off to a flyer as we were told in black and white, fact + all those jobs getting filled in time for H2 also now a known fact.
Final dividend in 2023 was a 12 x increase, fact.
What will those jobs do to the cash profits/progressive dividend on top - unknown...
Roll on AGM/Divi 30/5 High court 3/7 extra £11.9M available.
£34M is £2 approx and they have over £100M known currently. No impact of the Shell deal being taken into account either from February.

Nasty day People need to remember when these options where granted the the share price was a couple of quid. Hard work has put the company in an enviable position Lots of cash, huge dividend increase, profits gone crazy and now people moan because they sell some and made a lot of money. Good for them. When exactly are people meant to sell then ? Or why should they not be incentivised to excel to meet targets. Baffles me and dammed if you do dammed if you don't.

Rawson has sold over 55% of his shares, apologies it's not 68% as I first posted (has been updated) as that included the person closely associated with him.So Rawson has sold £1.97m and the HR director £1.82m all at a very very handsome profit via the giveaway options.
