I started looking for Cu in the Western world about the end of 2020. Sadly I found XTR a little too late to miss the early 2021 rise. Over the years I have migrated from a diversified portfolio approach to trust my judgement. I have taken no prisoners on this one and I only have one share in my 'portfolio'. Until the drill started turning it was a bit of a risk but now the drills have come back that is completely de-risked and it is now political/economic risk, plus a slightly maverick Executive Chairman.

I think you have given the dearth of data a fair hearing making calculations difficult so we must be patient and cling on to Colin`s optimism. Globally the general direction of travel seems to be on our side and I`m glad we are in Australia. My Central Asian Metals are taking a hammering this morning.

I see Alkane Resources went up 10% on the ASX today, probably on the back of its gold production.

Interesting post, TD. What would you consider to be an acceptable offer for Bushranger? $150m? $200m? $250m? Or higher?

What do yo call realistic although I don`t suppose you meant it like that? My figures are higher than Count`s but we are all a bit handicapped because we don`t know quantities or quality. Will we ever know? All we might see in the end is an offer.

You do not change your modus operandi without a reason.

Since Christmas none of the key drills have been RNSd by XTR and we have only had the odd assay, the last being a strange choice.

We can only speculate but I think it worth a bit of consideration because it could affect timings. In my view hole 35 was the catalyst. At that point XTR advised AA that they need to familiarise themselves with Racecourse/Ascot in preparation of an offer or otherwise. The idea of a 10 day decision window is ridiculous for a major investment. You can see why it was put into the agreement, but in the current environment it would not work.

In my view the Legacy CEO comment about AA being in Rockley (XTRs NW tenement) was correct. By the time that XTR have all the assay together, the incremental holes for the SE extension and some scoping of Ascot, AA will be ready to respond in the 10 days.

Given the imbalance between AA's capital employed and its aspirations I would be frankly amazed if XTR do not receive a realistic offer. It could all happen a lot sooner than you think. Frustrating if it all starts before 5th April!

...But even as the president stresses the need to boost domestic production of critical minerals, his administration has blocked several proposed US mines, including the Pebble project in Alaska, Rio Tinto’s Resolution copper project in Arizona and Antofagasta’s Twin Metals project in Minnesota. It has also taken steps to slow down development of a lithium mine in Nevada from ioneer.

“Environmental protections are paramount,” said Biden.

MoneyWeek: The price of gold spiked yesterday, then collapsed – what happens next?.

Excellent article. Well worth reading.

Let's hope Ascot contains lots of gold! That's my wish.

avsome1968 must be delighted. ARCM is storming ahead. Congratulations avsome1968! You certainly know how to pick 'em going by your ARCM buy when it looked, to all intents and purposes, dead and buried.

PS XTR share price suddenly picking up! 😁

I think I prefer the name Colin especially when he speaks of great drilling results at Ascot but for that I suppose I must await his pleasure.

Dear Rampers you have not answered my genuine questions abt XTR , but instead you are trying the bully boy tactics on your Rampers BB by banning people like me and that is only going to make them more determent.

We don't see it, but downunder there is a huge amount of drilling going on across Australia across all commodities resulting in delays at the labs.

Alkane Resources Limited (ASX: ALK) announces an update to its drilling program at the Company’s Boda Prospect in Central New South Wales. Boda is a landmark porphyry gold-copper system, within the Northern Molong Porphyry Project, which the Company believes has the potential to be a large, tier one gold-copper project.
Alkane also operates the nearby Tomingley Gold Operations (‘Tomingley’).

Alkane Managing Director, Nic Earner, said: “Our resource drilling program is methodically growing our knowledge of the higher-grade material at Boda.

“We have experienced some delays at the laboratory, pushing our initial resource model back to April. Boda is just the first of the resource models we expect to put together in this area and we look forward to bringing Boda and subsequent models to investors, as we develop our understanding of what is emerging as a tier-one resource in a great location.”

I take your point about the UT trade. I never looked at the trades today. The closing spread was 5.4-5.7. Even then the XTR share price drop today was only a 1/3rd of that of PXC.
I have had a few speculative trades since the summer. Bets of a few hundred quid here and there. That's how I started in XTR. However when I decided that I was fed up with AMYT back in 2020 I had a punt on GPM which did well for me, even though I didn't sell early enough. At the start of 2021 I made a vow to stick to investment trusts in future, but in the summer someone whose opinion I respected tipped XTR. They had researched in depth. I had a small punt. What started as a small punt is now my largest holding. Also during the summer I bought shares in gas producers SQZ & KIST as the gas price started to rise. Just small sums, but I doubled my money on my initial investments. I did try to trade them, but that wasn't profitable. I haven't the skill, mindset, or money to be a successful trader.
I've also dabbled in other metals explorers. PXC and the other CB companies, but I've sold because I decided I didn't like them. ONE THING I'M NOT GOING TO DO IS CONTINUE TO HOLD A SHARE AND CONTINUALLY AVERAGE DOWN. I did that with MTA and I vowed never to do that again because I lost all my savings in the process.
I'm honest. I say what I've bought, sold and whether I made a profit, or loss. Lots of other posters on these bb's are NOT honest.

Edit. I know shares like XTR are news driven. However though I like the fundamentals, I also like the XTR share chart. That bolsters my belief in XTR. But I won't follow them blindly. I did that with MTA. Done that, got the tee shirt!

I have 3 shares. XTR, GPM & PUR. Why? Copper and gold. Copper was the reason I invested in PXC. I should have sold when I was well in profit, but finally called it a day when I started to lose money. I'm NOT going to repeat my MTA mistake again! I did the right thing to sell PXC as the share price has continued to fall. Insiders know whats going on behind the scenes.
