Anyway I hedged my XTR bet yesterday by also topping up in GPM, which managed a small rise. I was expecting a big rise in the gold price today following Putin's broadcast last night, so I'm rather surprised it has hardly moved.

My target XTR sp, rightly, or wrongly, is circa 30p sometime in 2022, hamidahamida. When will depend on when CB manages to sell the Bushranger licence. Others, I know, are more optimistic on the XTR sp, but I'd consider myself very lucky with 30p.
Seeing I'm not a trader, but just a two bit dabbler it's immaterial to me whether I pay 6.25p, or 5.25p, per share. The difference will not be material if I get 30p. Sure I jumped the gun yesterday and would have been able to buy cheaper if I had waited, but I gambled on a positive RNS today. Unfortunately my gamble backfired. XTR is news driven; no news and it gradually falls back. You'll always get sellers, but buyers tend to buy following good news.
I suspect many of those who piled in recently at up to 7.5p are regretting it now.
PS I suspect goforgold1, who bought 100k yesterday @ 6.25p, sold them this morning.
PPS I still don't think XTR will drop as low as 5p, bwtfdik? 🤣

Best of luck, hamidahamida, with your wish! I think you'll need it!! The chart in the header shows that support @ circa 6p is holding. Of course share prices are ultimately driven by the direct news contained in the RNS's they issue and of the indirect news in the wider world.

I also topped up in GPM today based on the Russian/Ukraine situation. Gold should rise significantly tomorrow based on tonight's news.

I don't know what he's on, but I hope he's correct! 🤣 It could be very, very, good news for XTR if Ascot turns out to contain significant amounts of gold. However, though I'm optimistic on the future gold price, this guy is super optimistic!!

Gold is already on the rise tonight following Putin's actions on Ukraine.

Rightly, or wrongly, I've topped up with 50k this afternoon @ 6.26p based on the following chart. The share price could drop a bit lower (IMO) to chart support at 6p, but I'm not concerned by that. Just in case it all kicks off with Russia invading Ukraine I've also topped up today in GPM as the gold price could shoot up if that event takes place.

O/T. I'm glad I've bought XTR, a metals explorer and not a biotech! I noticed the SNG share price fell a staggering 85% following, evidently, disappointing phase 3 results. OUCH! The perils of buying speculative shares. You need to be lucky.

Anglo American, at the point they get involved, will want to buy everything on offer and XTR will want to sell it to them. That will be what the negotiation will be about. Whatever the precise scope of the buyback agreement, the major benefit of it to AA is to get them sitting round the table first.
