18/10/2018 15:55 | I worked with Roger Cook for many years. I recognise the names and knew well all the producers named in R.C.'s Wikipedia entry. I was one of them. I never knew a Malcolm Stacey nor do I remember the face if he is the person whose face appears in the shareprophets' Google entries. | kallistos
18/10/2018 12:54 | I took a look at that youtube advert! Weird geek, eh? They're all like that at shareprophets. Have you seen a picture of fatty wiinifrith alias chucko1 recently? They've got that seedy unsuccessful look about them, haven't they? Furtive, though, is perhaps the word I'm looking at.......... | trollwatch
18/10/2018 11:47 | Don't let sentiment cloud judgement saltraider. The fact is whatever magic dust Woodford possessed was left at the door when he left Invesco. Guys you have to see the bigger picture. Trump has created this enormous deficit with his tax cuts, he has also repatriated the FAANG offshore profits. It all points to rising US rates or the US economy could overheat. The knock on effect is future profits are going to be more discounted. The Woodford jam he is promising to deliver in the mid 2020's won't be worth so much by then. WPCT does not exist in a vacuum. Unless you can deliver market beating profits growth stocks are now more risky than in the last few years. | ltcm1
17/10/2018 21:31 | ltcm1 ... winnifroth ... "Guys you have a marvellous opportunity to get out now with most of your cash intact!!!" Could there ever be lower depths to plumb? Just how deep will be your next dive into the cess-pit? | saltraider
17/10/2018 17:44 | chuck it was - like Munch's 'scream'. It is surprising more was not made of it at the time as the sums involved were pretty lumpy in terms of WPCT numbers. Investors should note Woodford also sold Autolus to the other funds. On the evidence of the other transactions it is tempting to conclude Woody doesn't have a lot of faith in the NASDAQ pharma. | ltcm1
17/10/2018 13:19 | Brian, the evidence please. A simple request. | chucko1
17/10/2018 12:52 | Brummie, the point is that it IS generally true! The word “generallyR Please be specific so that your comments can be evaluated. | chucko1
17/10/2018 12:31 | It is still not generally or universally true that Smith always outperforms Woodford. So please shut up with your wriggling. Trouble is, you shareprophets do not understand logic. That's the reason you are so unsuccessful. Simpletons! | brummieloser
17/10/2018 12:27 | Another profits warning this morning for a Woodford pick, this time Crest Nicholson. Reminder that Woody piled into housebuilders last year at the very peak, then doubled his stake in Crest Nicholson in February, and owns over 10% of the company. Share price is down almost 50% over the past year. Woody posted his usual drivel in May about the company being fundamentally undervalued, the market getting it wrong etc. Share price has fallen a further 25% since then. hxxps://woodfordfund EDIT: Just noted that Woodford bought even more Crest Nicholson shares in July, taking him to a 14% stake in the company. | daffyjones
17/10/2018 12:13 | Since launching in April 2015, WPCT has lost 16% of its value. Over the same time frame, FEET has been static. Still not great (and a reminder that even legendary managers can falter when they venture out of their zone of expertise) but better by far than WPCT. | daffyjones
17/10/2018 11:21 | Brian, if your time frame is about two weeks, then yes, WPCT has significantly outperformed FEET. But who gives a damn about two weeks when the majority of posters here are analysing such funds with a very long term view? You might also cite the longer time performance between the EIF and Fundsmith. Over the past 3 years, the former is -1.56% per annum and the latter is +20.65% per annum. Taking currency benefits about of the equation, then the latter becomes around 16% per annum. Woody has hardly been firing on all cylinders, irrrespective of highlighted fund. | chucko1
17/10/2018 09:31 | He's investing within his tried and trusted expertise, so the trust should do well. However, "Buy good companies, don't overpay, then do nothing". That middle bit might be the hard one. | jonwig
17/10/2018 09:15 | Terry Smith beats Woodford with record £822m Smithson launch | zho
17/10/2018 09:10 | Oh dear, the steam is clearly running out of the rally, can you see how any rise from here will be met with a wall of sellers who have been patiently waiting for years to get out at something close to even??? Guys if you are looking to see what lies on the the right edge of the chart here, just take a look at ALM. Woodford said exactly the same about Allied Minds as he has been saying about WPCT - the opportunities are unbelievable, investors must be patient, the stock currently unloved by the short term oriented market. Can you not see that WPCT is ALM repeating itself??? WPCT is priced for perfection thanks to the special patent WIM valuation tool. Any misses here and this pig with lipstick will fall harder than an avalanche on K2. I warn because I care. | ltcm1
11/10/2018 13:45 | Whatever else may be going on, it’s now trading at an 18% discount. | chucko1 |
