shh!!

Not many companies are able to increase the divi by 16.6% in the current economic climate. Whitbread seems to be one of the winners having pitched their businesses at the right level for the prevailing economic conditions.

As long as the Whitbread management keep up the good work I'll be happy. As we have noted a few directors have put significant amounts of their own money into WTB which shows confidence.

the Golden Cross does often turn out to be a good indicator however (regardless of hindsight in this particular case) in my experience

The interim dividend has been increased by 16.6% to 11.25p (2009/10: 9.65p) and will be paid on 11 January 2011 to all shareholders on the register at the close of business on 29 October 2010.
