gone a bit quiet here, but WTB still doing nicely especially given the recession, and the interim divi to come in just over a month's time, as posted above...

Costa coffee seems to be on to a winner at the moment, with Premier Inn attracting stay at home holiday makers this share could really take off in the next few months.

WTB seem to be onto a winner with the Costa formula as others, e.g. Coffee Republic, fall by the wayside..
According to "this is money" this was in The Telegraph recently:

Overall sales at Costa coffee have soared by 18%, reaping benefits for owner Whitbread. The company appears to be stealing market share from Starbucks, having spruced up its cafes and opened 88 new outlets. On the flipside, Premier Inn has seen slower sales and weaker numbers than last summer. But special offers are giving it a boost. Whitbread has excellent growth prospects for the medium to long term. Hold.

given the credit crunch & economic recession he's done well, I guess that Whitbread has been a beneficiary in many respects

at least the chairman is now in profit, hope he does not sell too soon.
me, i bought these in euros when the pound was 1.50 to the euro. as a result they stand me over 23 euros now, have a long way to go to get my money back but as they say "it is better to travel than to arrive"!

Useful link but the graphs are also very useful. Good to have the volume plot alongside the graphs. I big rise accompanied by big volume can be trusted more. It suggests that the rally may not yet be at an end although some retracement after such extraordinary rise is to be expected .

Breakout above 1100 on trading statement today.
Luckily I had closed my short 1100 call position and I am long dec 1200 calls .
