25/6/2020 09:01 | bigboyblue: It all goes back to the Summer School. No director can buy or sell during the sales campaign (it would be insider trading) and likewise if they buy or sell as number ramp up for September term. This moment also happened to be a spike so he had to trade NOW otherwise it would not be allowed for quite a while (I guess)...... He had to trade just as the summer school opened (so he does not know numbers). No other director has sold (and they have very large numbers of shares). The chairman also has the TIDE business which he has to look after. Obviously many of us have traded some too (we are day traders) - good volume is good. | netcurtains
24/6/2020 23:13 | Perhaps there isn't but it felt like an odd explanation to me | gleach23
24/6/2020 23:00 | Can't see any problem with that. | bigboyblue
24/6/2020 18:46 | ...."Following this transaction, Mr Whipp's interest in the share capital of the Company is now 500,000 Ordinary Shares. Barrie Whipp commented, "WEY shares had become a significant part of my personal pension plan and in consultation with the fund manager we decided to reduce my holding." So he only held 900,000 in his SIPP. Buy at the bottom sell at the top. Thanks Barrie. | seabornlegend
24/6/2020 17:08 | I've done some analysis of director buys/sells (both at WEY and in the market as a whole) and there is generally no long term effect: For example Jacqueline sold about a million for 11p and the price then rose to 30p. Barrie has sold 400k for 29p (perhaps TIDE need supporting) and yes price fallen but a correction was on the cards anyway.... I'm sure there are loads more people waiting in the wings either to buy in or buy back in. | netcurtains
24/6/2020 16:31 | Yes, just a bit of de-risking as his WEY holding was becoming a bit overweight in his SIPP, still a good core holding in his SIPP & also his non SIPP portfolio so glad that was clarified. Great opportunity to buy/top up under 30p on a general down day on the market too. GLA | cheaky monkey
24/6/2020 16:22 | Director sales caused price fall, as a financial adviser I can see the methodology behind the sales in terms of de-risking pension, gives buyers another chance below 30p | murdonix
24/6/2020 15:55 | Nice to see a lot of trading today.. Even if the price gone down a bit. Lets others hop on the train. There is plenty to look forward too . | netcurtains
23/6/2020 22:24 | Net: Your analysis is always ahead of most of us. So many variables in Wey’s favour.Eventually the wider market will wake up to this. I’ve held since 10p and so glad I increased recently. GLA | bdh1
23/6/2020 11:12 | OK so we hit 30p... The last time we reched the next level - the high 30s and mid 40s (2017-2018) was when WEY had plans to expand globally and also expanding laterally (eg broaden the type of education available). This time the chances of success of any global expansion and lateral expansion has much improved thanks to: 1) An enlarged cash pile 2) The already successful launch and execution of teaching teachers how to be internet teachers. (The ATHE Level 4 Award in Teaching Online is a new qualification accredited by the Awards for Training and Higher Education (ATHE) awarding body. The course has been approved nationally by OFQUAL and is available on the OFQUAL register). 3) The government grant for the summer school 4) The global pandemic So, without any trading update I suspect the next step might well be high 30s or mid 40s... Or it could retrace somewhat. I have no idea. However if we get a positive trading update then of course it might well go a lot higher. There is also the possibility of joint trading ventures and agreements with other education companies over the coming months. | netcurtains
23/6/2020 09:03 | Its worth pointing out to those that have not noticed. With "Revision Courses", "Summer School", "Study skills" and "Learning on Demand" WEY for the first time have entered the "tutoring market"... 50% of London children get some form of home tutoring and for the first time WEYs education provision links into that tutoring market (eg specific lessons for short periods of time): | netcurtains

22/6/2020 15:09 | bdh1: Got to think big to get big. In the "investor Evening - zoom" they were talking about "tens of thousands" (not sure what time frame but got to think this is a major opportunity and WEY have the vision and the money). The journey context for the Summer school starts here: then you go on to Summer school (the context landing page is interesting too so first do look at the Virtual School page) The landing page splits the virtual school up into 4 education areas: 1. Summer School 2. Revision Courses 3. Study Skills 4. Learning on Demand Interesting times. | netcurtains
22/6/2020 15:06 | Anyone notice the Sep 20 InterHigh prices look to be c10% higher than LY? Unless I’ve misread. Posted on the website a few weeks ago. Exudes confidence in future acquisition rates. An extra 10% on revenue potentially flowing through to net profit changes profitability somewhat... | bdh1
22/6/2020 15:02 | Another £1m & Sales / Gross Margin would be flying. Having said that, 3,000 children per se trying the experience would be mounumental from a future growth perspective | bdh1
22/6/2020 09:10 | The Virtual Summer School link now exists on WEYs site: If the sales team get 3,000 pupils that is another £1m turnover... Classes start on 20th July so WEY sales have a month to get individual pupils or B2B pupils...Interesting times.. In the past they advertised on LBC so perhaps that will work again. | netcurtains

20/6/2020 07:49 | sonie01: The next step is WEYs summer School. The next step after the existence of the summer school is any B2B contract wins through the summer holidays for the catch-up school. Then the critical September term. There is also "the cash pile" which we sort of know they will be spending "on something(s)" (quote they are 'under pressure to spend the cash pile' (quote from investor evening)). Then of course there is also the overseas expansion (the gulf states, Spain, Italy, Russia, China etc). The expansion is being pushed by agents. This is the "agents" page on InterHigh so we know they are actively expanding GLOBALLY this is how they register: . So there is an awful lot there.. We know the government have hundreds of millions ear marked so its up to WEY to step up to the plate and make their case sonie01: VRE (VR Education) has about £2.5m net cash (much smaller than WEY we have £6.6m cash) and VRE makes a bit of a loss (WEY already make a profit). I think WEYs VR classes mixed with AI as well as everything I've just mentioned........ well to my mind its possible WEY should be valued at least the same as VRE. That would equate to WEY rising by another 10% from here. If WEY pulls off a big contract win or gets thousands of new pupils in September then a 10% rise would be undervaluing WEY by miles. WEY are still recruiting teachers (more each week by the look of it). WEY got the government funding for its AI VR not VRE. This is sort of ground zero... Cheers Net | netcurtains

19/6/2020 18:05 | However, schools minister Nick Gibb told the BBC there was lee-way for heads to set up summer schemes if they so wished. But he said: "If you want children to catch up, it can't just be done over the month of August - it has to be longer term over the academic year" Government has done its bit - so its now over to WEY.... Lets see what they come up with next week.... | netcurtains
19/6/2020 17:41 | A few chunky sells today but still easily being mopped up. If they made a profit that’s fine but knocking on 30p and exciting times ahead, I would sooner be in than out, by far one of my bigger holdings. | wigancasino
19/6/2020 16:18 | Shanklin - yes if WEY won a contract(s) it does seem likely that one or two of them might be 7 figures. This is certainly exciting times for blended and online learning. We are standing on the "plate" and the guy is chucking the ball at us. Will we strike a hit! the next thing we need to see is some news (web site?) linked to Weys Summer school..... I suspect it will be online next week - perhaps monday. | netcurtains |
