25/6/2020 15:35 | So Barrie Whipp, Chairman, sells 491k shares of his 991K holding following consultation with his fund manager. Should a Chairman really need the advice of a fund manager? Maybe if he saw shares with 50% more upside, maybe better to hold on and enjoy the additional capital growth? Better to have cut the waffle and just released an RNS at 7am to put all investors on an equal footing. Poor show IMHO. | eagle eye
25/6/2020 14:59 | Hey Net, if by a shame, you refer to the these concurrent Director sells, then I agree. I also believe in WEY’s offering, but I am (maybe erroneously) assuming a drift down in share price | jonbirdy
25/6/2020 14:57 | Directors selling 50% of their holding and then saying they are aligned to shareholder through their option scheme (granted free of course at no cost to them personally) is not a good sign. As they say on Dragons Den I’m out and will be back in when I see the Directors buying again. Might be some time. | adorling
25/6/2020 14:57 | jonbirdy: It is such a shame. I believe in Home School - almost like a religion. I am a believer. Its awful to have had to sell half because the directors have sold. But what else can one do. I am a believer but totally gutted (even though I've made a small fortune out of it). | netcurtains
25/6/2020 14:45 | I just sold all my holdings. Two of the directors holdings were so paltry anyway, that them both selling does not sow much confidence. (I held about the same as what each of them hold now!) I’ve think I’ve mentioned here before how I feel that WEY’s RNS’s are often poor. No excuse for that really. I hope to buy back in and assume the summer will see the share price drift down. | jonbirdy
25/6/2020 13:02 | Just bought back the shares I sold from my old trading account last week and pocketed a small gain. Good to have my WEY holding all in one place now. Given nothing has really changed to their future prospects I'm happy to stick to the plan and hold for the medium to long term. The share price got ahead of itself last week (pity I didn't sell some more when it hit 29-30p)and hopefully will settle back into it's old pattern of gradual growth based on positive news flow. | zulu_principle
25/6/2020 12:41 | I have seen directors buy and the share price drop, and seen directors sell and the share price rise.Ultimately, the directors here have limited windows in which to trade and have taken advantage of the recent strength to sell. Fair play to them: that is what the stock market is there for.Given I view the market as an overreaction, I have bought some more. | longshanks
25/6/2020 12:35 | Agreed I'm out it's not the selling it's the amount of the sales that is of concern to me. They were right to sell some but they are selling very large proportions and all at the same time | murdonix
25/6/2020 12:26 | Agreed. It was coordinated so not an accident | netcurtains
25/6/2020 12:17 | @Shanklin, clearly nothing imminent - but potentially in 2-3 months? Either way, it's very odd behaviour. | 74tom
25/6/2020 11:48 | 74tom: Yes I think it looks like they are delibrately shaking the trees - well me and you were shaken.... I've done what I've been told now lets see what happens. | netcurtains
25/6/2020 11:47 | Any corporate action at this point, or divergence from the outlook statement in the H1 results, would surely mean the selling was insider trading? | shanklin
25/6/2020 11:38 | Yes his comments are very rich to say the least, and beyond anything are unprofessional - why do investors care about them re-balancing their portfolios... It makes me wonder whether they are preparing for some corporate action? M&A would certainly make sense if they want to scale quickly, but if they need to raise capital (aka Learning Tech's model), then it's possible they will need to raise at a significant discount. Certainly wouldn't surprise me after this. | 74tom
25/6/2020 11:34 | Just want to say I like the Directors I have sold half my holdings in WEY over the past 2 days. I will let the other half run on. I have no idea what is going on but one assumes the directors know more than me. If they say SELL HALF and LET THE OTHER HALF RUN ON then that is what I will do. I believe in their guidence - although I would have prefered if they told us first... lol | netcurtains
25/6/2020 11:31 | Agree shanklin...to try to explain it away like that only serves to focus the reader's attention and appears totally disingenuous. That said, if it presents a upcoming top up opportunity then I won't be complaining. If it gets near 20p perhaps the directors may even decide to concentrate their respective "individual investment and pension portfolios" with a decent weighting of WEY shares again :p | gleach23
25/6/2020 11:23 | We seem to have more buys than sell, unless one a worked 'SIP', then tother way about,,gla | abergele
25/6/2020 11:15 | My trade shows as a sell,, all to muddy the waters.gla, | abergele
25/6/2020 11:14 | Provided WEY delivers on the outlook statement in the HY statement then its difficult to complain about the director sells. However the reasons given for the sells are amongst the poorest I have seen in 20 years of share investing. They would have been better off saying nothing than giving the pathetic excuses provided. Obviously all IMHO. | shanklin
25/6/2020 11:04 | Exactly 74tom...quite a drastic "diversification of the directors' individual investment and pension portfolios" Mr Whipp! What a load of tosh. | gleach23
25/6/2020 10:59 | If it's such a good immediate prospect, why would the directors sell shares? It appears that they think a £40m+ market cap is ahead of where it should be... | 74tom
25/6/2020 10:50 | Tom, ,,,but isn't that what's been talked of from the people behind the scenes, A better prospect going forwards?,, imho | abergele
25/6/2020 10:46 | I've got to say I think that's poor form from the directors to all sell out in unison. Yes they have holdings remaining, however the FD Nicholls Grey only held 80k shares to begin with, so I don't buy the diversification comment. An FD holding only 43k shares worth circa £10k is not enough IMO and shows very little confidence in the business. It suggests that the directors feel that the share price has got well ahead of itself, and I'd expect a retest of 20p in the near future unless they release positive news. | 74tom
25/6/2020 10:41 | Taken a few more be rude not too ,I feel this is the retrace level that had to be expected.. Imho,,Gla.. | abergele
25/6/2020 10:16 | i guess the green trades are like support? | netcurtains
25/6/2020 09:06 | Yes, all makes sense. | bigboyblue |
