24/4/2020 07:18 | maybe some read across here.... Pearson 2020 Q1 Trading Update (Unaudited) 24th April 2020 Thirdly, we have seen a significant uplift in the use of our digital products and services, and rapidly growing interest in our Global Online Learning business. During the pandemic we have made many of our online resources available for free to support learners. In time, we expect this growing interest to accelerate our digital grow | ![]() thefartingcommie
23/4/2020 09:35 | My joining dots view of pupil numbers fwiw - Barrie NG Finance Director quoted 2,400 as “within grasp” on VOX Markets podcast pre covid 19. The medium term aim stated as 10,000 + Marketing strategy / director appointment well documented to support delivery. There’s been ample evidence of new recruitment in direct (ie margin generating) roles of late. There is also evidence of investment in indirect (ie overhead investment) roles. Suggests confidence. In the most recent learning designer ad (placed in April) it references a pupil base of “Almost 3,000” That’s significantly higher in a matter of weeks as the covid 19 factor takes effect. We’ll never get anything explicit but joining the dots suggests a very positive trajectory as you’d expect with what is going on around us. A case of patience before this share price gets going again | ![]() bdh1

22/4/2020 15:36 | The question we really want to know: Can we see WEY breaking into 30s and 40s within reasonable time frame? I'd say I think it is doable. | netcurtains
22/4/2020 14:03 | Mopped up some cheaper shares today. Thank you lol. See a really positive outlook here. Everything you’ve mentioned Net. Plus 3 more INDIRECT roles advertised last week so 4 inc accountant role. £100k plus in non revenue generating costs exudes confidence. Timing is interesting just before start of summer term, I.e as soon as pupil numbers understood (positive dare we say) they’ve pushed the button on the £100k. Anyone figured at how many pupils would be a good outcome this year? | ![]() bdh1
21/4/2020 15:42 | The interim results last year were for the period ending 28 February 2019. Assuming the end date is the same this year, then this set of Interim results, when they are available (which includes the note to market of "above expectations") should include the extra pupils from Wuhan BUT NOT any UK increase due to virus (as 28th Feb is pre UK virus). The "better than expected" note and the Wuhan work are probably factored into the current price so the important thing will be any information and notes on what (and how) WEY are doing during this virus crisis and beyond: although to be fair there is no 'beyond the crisis' for quite some time! Bottom line is, this company is probably in a strong growth phrase and it will be for a few years to come.... But we just dont know for sure until we have the results and notes in front of us. | netcurtains
21/4/2020 13:41 | Saw this on Academy21 website: 450 year 11 pupils That is a lot of pupils in one year stream in one school.... An average secondary school in the UK has about 948 pupils in total. | netcurtains

17/4/2020 16:04 | Good points. If the SEO conversion rates aren’t a ridiculously low percentage the cost per acquisition could be quite low (in relation to revenue). I’ve seen an example where payback period was quite some time. On reflection mind the order value was pretty low too. This isn’t the case with wey as revenue from a new course sign up is materially higher. So, seems good they’re bidding sufficiently to land near the top of the paid lists. If they weren’t it would suggest insufficient value in their business model to justify the higher PPC bids. The opposite seems true! | ![]() bdh1
17/4/2020 11:06 | bdh1: SEO is something I've got involved in. It does not cost a lot of money, just needs people who know what they are doing (who I admit might have big salarys) . InterHigh are also in the StudentRoom which I think has millions of hits: Note in this post InterHigh is mentioned first: (Original post by AdamGirv) (Original post by AdamGirv)Mine have said this: If you are going to follow the ‘estimated grade route’ you need to be very careful and make sure that you will be able to provide enough evidence as if you were in a school. This work has to be authenticated by another school or distance learning organisation (e.g. InterHigh, OOL, OHS, ICS Learn, Woolsey Hall etc). Private candidates who are studying independently and not with a school, distance learning organisation or established tutor, are not eligible for an estimated grade as there is no way of us, as a centre, being able to authenticate any work. Unfortunately, these candidates will have to take their examinations in the early Autumn 2020 session or in a later series. You will need to indicate this on the form so we can ‘transfer&rsqu | netcurtains
17/4/2020 11:00 | Been back around. LY exec board remuneration increased £0.25m yr on yr. Two senior exec appointments TY. Co.s don’t bump up their indirect cost areas without good confidence around cash generation. This (& increased marketing) is being funded from increasing revenues per Feb RNS. Other roles advertised: English Teacher Leader of Learning Psychology, Leaderof Learning Computer Science, Leader(s) of Learning (Variety FT & PT Perm)Maths, English, Science, Mod For Lang (Spanish, french, German), Humanities,Cover Teacher. I notice there’s activity in Search Engine Marketing (google). Not sure if this is new. Inter High appears in the top 2 for many categories (e.g. “online gcse”). Pay per click can be expensive to be near the top. Suggests wey is doing well otherwise wouldn’t continue with it. | ![]() bdh1
16/4/2020 14:14 | Big sell gone through. If cleared should be onwards & upwards from here. A few weeks back some were selling at 14p and the share price was 26p not long after. I think more to come. | ![]() bdh1

16/4/2020 07:36 | 4 weeks or less. It was as early as 18th April in 2017, although I'm not expecting that. The interesting thing will be not so much the six months to Feb (we know that will be good) but how they describe the outlook. They will know summer term numbers for Interhigh by next week but the extra revenue generated by Academy 21 will depend in part on the length of the current restrictions; we should hear more on that from HMG today. No doubt the covid crisis will create a 'hump' in revenues, but I'm sure some of that hump will stick when we go back to normal. | ![]() bigboyblue
15/4/2020 13:42 | We are 4 weeks away from Interim results (to Feb 2020) and we know they are going to be good and full year will beat expectations by a big mile so a great opportunity for new investors to scale in on these pull backs and for existing investors to add which I have done several times in the past 4 weeks. | ![]() adorling
14/4/2020 11:12 | VRE nearly up 40% this morning due to link up with a US group..... Slightly different sector (Virtual Reality) but still home education market. | netcurtains
14/4/2020 10:55 | The only negative thing is WEY will not want remote education to be too closely linked to "Lockdown". In many ways its totally the reverse of lockdown. It allows GCSE and A level students to literally study anywhere they want to. Its important to state that WEY sets you FREE it does not lock you down. | netcurtains
14/4/2020 10:48 | Lots of roles being advertised by Wey at the moment. Going back 6 weeks or so there were the senior roles. Then came a tranche of leaders of learning (too many to list). There are now more as of last week. Interestingly one is a part qualified accountant role. Bigger spreadsheet / team now required to keep track. Lol. Good sign mind that continuing to expand indirect roles. Suggests plenty of additional gross margin being delivered to cover the costs | ![]() bdh1
