Yes our Austrian neighbours have gone back too I guess (they are no longer here).

Schools opening early?
Yes you hear a lot in the press about that but I cant see it myself. Clearly it was schools (on ski trips in Italy) that helped spread virus in the first place (rapidly right round the EU including Norway and Iceland).
I think the secret in nailing this virus is for everyone to join joinzoe. We need not just the 2 million using it already but more like TEN or TWENTY MILLION to get this sucker nailed down for good:

Hi NC,
Seen your speculation about conventional schools re-opening somewhat later.
Au contraire, I saw an idea yesterday that resumption of schooling may come early in the unlocking process - just had a brief exchange of views with the Mrs about that approach!
Unwinding this will be far worse than a Rubik’s cube - and emotional too. Eg her English daughter was tearful that her Swiss husband has been ordered back to work (in Switzerland) - and their family is all below 34.....
Interesting times ahead......tightfist

Price has been remarkably resilient as there has been a rash of profit taking sales. Does that mean a large order is being filled? Or just canny market makers. I would have guessed WEY's price would have fallen back a penny or two before any potential surge towards the weeks when the market estimate the results will be out (early May).

We know they are ahead of expectations (before Covid19) so its pure guess work what the lockdown is doing. My gut feeling is the lockdown in schools will be in place (more or less) until a cure is out - so at least (in my view) until end of August but quite possibly well into the Autumn term.

tightfist: I wasn't suggesting all the new starter teachers will be doing the course, rather I was suggesting that WEY have a lot of experience teaching teachers how to teach online.

WEY are clearly busy trying to meet demand:
Edit: I've deleted the link as it was ridiculously long. Basically it was a load of adverts for teacher posts with Wey.

Really well placed now, so surely only a matter of time before it is more readily noted!

It would be interesting to see if the end game (2 years time?) is a take-over by large Chinese or US education group (or a sizeable investment of some sort to ramp up the size of the opperation). WEY is the ideal vehicle for middle class SE Asians to get UK exams (and language skills) to enable them to get into "Ivy League" universities in the UK or USA (or Australia/Canada).

WEY have been working in Wuhan during the crisis. Be interesting to see how it all pans out down the line.

Sorry tightfist I stand corrected. Seems I was looking at a more recent spike so expectations of a new ath were premature.

tightfist: As I have said we have no real idea of what is going on apart from they are ahead of expectations ..... China, Europe, Africa, Russia and UK - new pupils can come from anywhere..... We just dont know...

Then there is academy21 working with local authorities and head teachers - no idea whats happening there either...

Then there is WEYs new training program of training teachers to teach on-line - the demand must be gigantic but we just dont know what slice WEY is getting..

Apart from its above expectations - but our expectations are all over the place - we just dont know

SP looks likely to register a new ath. This is their time now so let’s hope they can grab this golden opportunity with both hands. Carp diem!

Post CoronaVirus (2022) I would expect talk of home school clubs/groups to be significantly higher than it is today. 2021 is the year that WEY can show the world what they can do. They are centre stage.
