14/2/2010 15:36 | o/t: Gg note 21 goes on 'at length' - does it impact your overall opinions? | egoi
14/2/2010 07:57 | ARGY2 - Whilst it is true that the T1PS maintained its shareholding during the dilution, the majority of the initial stake was bought at 70p +. So if you assume 1/2 @ 70p and 1/2 at 10p their breakeven price is 40p. Tara - Nothing new there then, seems like the FAN publicity machine is working all out. Completes just in time for year end results? gg | greengiant
13/2/2010 16:24 | Sorry, but the only bit of note is, options include a management buyout and a bid from a group seeking to consolidate existing sports representative agencies. the group expects a sale to complete in 6-8 weeks. [ to me the deal is done how else would you set a compleation date.?] | tara7
13/2/2010 16:07 | Tara - I am always happy (well when the sun is shining) Any chance of posting? gg | greengiant
13/2/2010 16:04 | See todays FT, football side to go in next 6-8 weeks.!! | tara7
13/2/2010 15:56 | NEWSFLASH,1/4 page in todays FT, re the sports side , FAN expects a sale to complete in the next 6-8 weeks. As i have been saying about to go up [as debt reduces.] That you even make greengiant happy.!! | tara7
12/2/2010 17:09 | t1ps help their performance by persuading small companies to issue them shares at a big discount to the market price on the back of various vaque promises. Didn't FAN issue them shares at 10p a few months back when they were 15p at the time? Not the first time they've played this trick either. Only time it went wrong recently was Nexus. | argy2
12/2/2010 17:08 | the fall was just the "froth" off recent weeks - no one with a decent holding has sold, little or no volue, so MMs taking advantage on picking shares up. Once the disposals are announced, peeps will start looking at what FAN will be delivering and no one can doubt that SpotCo and Dwentyers will perform very well going forwards. Priced to go bust.. | tsmith2
12/2/2010 16:49 | More shares bought than sold today.! | tara7
12/2/2010 16:15 | Gg, perhaps it's Nexus to the rescue? -:) Erm, then again, down 70% since August............ -:( | egoi
12/2/2010 16:09 | How the T1ps fund can be performing well with these in is anyone's guess. Calmed down after this mornings rant and now looking at the positives. Hopefully the media side will cantinue to perform well. Hopefully the sports business will be sold for a decent price Hopefully several members of the board will leave Ooops did I actually type that last one. I would actually not invest anymore here until after 20th April at the earliest - need to see the accounts before determining whether they are actually worth it. All in all a poor show from poor management gg | greengiant
12/2/2010 14:15 | You don't miss a trick Gg if you've already looked - nice work! -:)) Yes if liquidity is an issue for you, then the FSD shares aren't for you, no doubts atall about that imho. That said though, and I reckon IFFF they get the 5 year contracts again, the shares might well trade at 100p+ in 2 years time (2yrs because of the pre-Olympic work). look forward to your thoughts on/after Monday, have a great weekend. Sorry 'FANs'; lol, you can have your thread back now! | egoi
12/2/2010 14:07 | egoi, had a look at FSD a few months back, I will post my own workings after the weekend but seem to recall superb company, but liquidity put me off. From memory, way undervalued, good history and financials. Will let you know monday when I can access my home computer gg | greengiant
12/2/2010 13:36 | Soulsauce you cynic! -;) Gg thanks as ever for your frank and cogent views. I have decided not to invest (not least of which of course because of your imho v good points). o/t: I don't hold gg and certainly not asking for more of your time for a 'rundown', but any quick thoughts welcomed; here's another Plus-Quoted stock (very similar liquidity and spread issues to Argyll i.e. dire!) that might be of interest on a 3-4 year view imho. Market cap is 1 million and they have a stated pension deficit of 300k, despite, and after which, assets are above market cap. Company been around a while; Turnover is 13 million, after steady rises recently; which betrays a proper little business imho, they are profitable on a p/e of 3 (at buy price). 0.1p a share of dilution only from last year's 7p eps. They do have some rolling five year contracts for renewal imminently but it seems they are winning business elsewhere (mainly pre-Olympic work) and because of their niche have a decent chance of winning these contracts again anyway. Interims are at the end of the month, and the order book was lower at year start, mainly because of the rolling contracts. Creditors are higher, but cash (2.5 million) is similarly higher too. 'Cost of sales' means quite tight margins overall and might be a bit of a concern Interims are due by the end of Feb. Field Systems Designs (plus:FSD). balance sheet screams to me - we could afford a dividend! Priced to go bust, which it certainly isn't going to imho. Any quick thoughts? | egoi
12/2/2010 13:33 | Not the media side, but it wouldn't suprise me on the footie side gg | greengiant
12/2/2010 13:22 | Anyone would think they are trying to wind this down for a management takeover on the cheap :-/ | soulsauce
12/2/2010 13:17 | How to destroy shareholders value Optimum Wealth - Acquired for £3m, sold for £1.5m NCI - Acquired for £1.75m, sold for £200k Shareholder value lost on acquisitions, most of the company's current market value. Failure, failure, failure. I am not too suprised by peoples desire to sell, I will too when the time is right, can't be bothered to waste my time going to the GM. FAN read this thread anyway so are well aware of peoples views. gg | greengiant
12/2/2010 09:30 | Out again for now, probably leave it for good for the reasons GG quite rightly points out - twice bitten now. | soulsauce
12/2/2010 08:57 | tara7 - 11 Feb'10 - 16:22 - 979 of 990 Got your rise ihavenoclue.!! ==================== I meant a large one throughout the day. I said there was a reason to be a little cautious and the share price has today backed that up. | ihavenoclue
12/2/2010 08:40 | tara - I agree however this management have failed to deliver YET AGAIN. Part of the reason is they appear to be snake oil salesmen. Look at the trading statement. Slightly below for dewynters and Stellar for SpotCo (which as you rightly put it is the majority) yet they are slightly underforecast. This management team obviously do not understand the need to manage expectations nor seem to have a grasp what a Trading Statement should say. My view is that we will only see a rise WHEN there is a change in top management, with the appointment of an industry expert as oppossed to an agent. Not concerned with the shareprice movement, my selling under 3% is just a sign of my disgruntled attitude toward those running this company. gg | greengiant
12/2/2010 07:53 | Doesn't seem like the market likes it though it was factoring in a very poor update which this wasn't. Think they were hoping the Sport division would be gone. Ahh well looks like I should have stuck to my trading strategy of never buying back in to a company I have lost money on. | soulsauce
12/2/2010 07:49 | Given the media focus and that they are already form the bulk of the operations then I think we are doing very well. Sport side - going very soon. | tsmith2
12/2/2010 07:40 | Key points in terms of future for me are: 1 sale of sports business for a good price 2 pay down of big chunk of debt 3 restructuring of central costs in a big way which they allude to, and possibly new talent brought in at the top? 4 continuing ops running profitably | qs9 |
