Don't believe any story you read in boards because it is infested by all sorts of dodgy people but the reality for VRS is this: All its products are backed by sound and profesionnal research from two universities: Cambridge, which is the 2017 No. 4 in the world and Manchester where the Nobel Price winner in this graphene area is from. So IMHO, the story tellers are for the kids.

It feels really quite odd owning a relatively large amount of shares in a company, seeing the share price drop and not being in the slightest bit worried...

My friend was involved in a US company that was waiting for a final signature of a deal for over £100 mill. Some dirty tricks by a rival meant they lost the contract, however along the negotiations route the customer was unaware their tech was unproven. The hope was they could get the fixes sorted in the time between contract signed and the time period between then and full construction, it was a big tech project.

So lies by the competitor not not the whole truth form the US supplier either.

The way VRS operate is proven tech, it will work, do you want it.

My only concern here is one of a brilliant CEO who uses twitter too much and builds pressure on himself which ultimately can lead to rushed and perhaps bad decision making.

That's a reason why I invested because they don't do that and make decisions instead of fannying around.

Many businesses suffer badly simply down to not making a decisions and it's one of the biggest reasons listed for failure of businesses.

They won't make decisions to impress they make decisions that through research they think will be good for the business and make money.

Frustrating knowing that there are collaborations that need a signature, it could be this week but if not we should have a very nice start to 2018.

Times have changed when the leader of the free world conducts his business via social media. However, NR is not breaking any promises - he's always maintained that he can't control the timing of the announcements sausage machine.

The story here is the best I have ever seen in 40 years of investing. There is usually something I have overlooked which comes back to bite me.

The more this company grows the bigger the danger. As the company grows the behaviour of senior staff has to grow with it and long term investors will understand that.

No idea

If they get a final signature this week for the any one of the companies stacked up then yes.

Beyond their control but obviously they are stacked up.

Nice to see in the tweeted article something I have been banging on about for a long time.

The two main drawbacks are ; (1) the process is fundamentally destructive – the graphene is irreversible damaged in the process, and (2) the throughput is many orders of magnitude smaller than the CVD-based fabrication of the graphene in the first place creating a bottleneck.

So those that simply post a graph suggesting one graphene is like another have no clue. The above includes aspect ratios maintained, defect ratios, edge damage and so on. It's not as simple as just getting to under 10 layers.

Then this one

Quietly, behind the scenes and under the cover of NDA’s and confidentiality agreements, graphene is making significant commercial advances.

'Speaking with graphene producers, the story this year has been consistent; they are selling material but they are unable to publicly disclose the end-users or the application areas due to the commercially sensitive information and the desire for their customers to maintain a first mover advantage.'

Buying VRS, even for billions or tens of billions, would be utterly inconsequential for a company like Apple that has *hundreds* of billions it can't repatriate for tax reasons. Such a company - and there are many - would pay almost any price for a company/product(s) that could give them a competitive edge in the market for years/decades to come.

In my view the VRS business is already in the shop window, however, the price tag is turned over to hide the price.

If someone with enough money not to worry about whether they could afford the price or not, were to actually turn over that price tag, then what would they see ?

Well let's just say say something significantly north of where it sits today.

It would be great if, one day, VRS...

THE DAY ARM HOLDINGS WAS TAKEN OVER AT A 40% PREMIUM

The ARM bb on the morning it happened:

Interesting to read the excitement of many really long term holders (10, 15 years) who enjoyed the great profits and years of dividends.

COULD IT HAPPEN TO US?

The thing about shorting is that people take pleasure out of making profits from other peoples losses.

Total lack of morality.

Grabster

Pretty much my view that. If shorts were not out there the crooked pump and dump crew could just keep driving prices up.

Lucien won't have a clue VRS just a game of playing the lemmings after a big spike along with the xmas period normal slow time.

However VRS are run off their feet not pondering over who is going to eat the last mince pie in the office.

The company are all that matters and the market doesn't know what he knows.

The nomad gets to find out as it should be done with no mates rates notice. If the final signature arrives then out goes an rns.

grabster - but the difference is we *own* the shares we bought. Shorters sell something they don't own.

Maybe when an individual does it it's not so bad: but when a large institution shorts it distorts the true price. Do you imagine that GS (for example), sells a share and *hopes* it goes down? No - they sell, and KEEP selling, *until* it goes down...

Re Jointer's post 15668:

Imagine the billions of small and medium sized appliances worldwide. Huge weight savings by using graphene printed materials. No need for all that bare and coated copper wire and solder. If there are also cost savings then I can see a few copper mines closing in the future.
