Yep, that’s why I talk more about the vast opportunities in Korea and the fact we have a strong footing over there imo. Matt has been over there several times no doubt working his magic. I’m going to focus on all the positives rather than the very few negatives. I feel they get covered enough on here already and I’m trying to balance things up. I certainly do not wish to mislead, so apols

Hi Roger ... as noted in the latest interim results the collaboration project with Axia has been postponed due to consortium funding difficulties so there is a damn good reason why investors don't "price these things in".Yes there are broader South Korea investment opps to open that market up but again plans not signed Suggest some balance to your very positive posts as we are a long way from a done deal / sure thing with still plenty of risk hence the share price!

Not sure if this has Been posted
Change is all around us .

The Government has said it is doubling funding for electric chargepoints to £10m next year, in the hope it will convince more drivers to invest in EVs.

The money could fund up to another 3,600 chargepoints across the country and make charging at home and overnight easier for those without an off-street parking space.

The Department for Transport (DfT) is also looking at making information about all public chargepoints - including locations and power ratings - openly available in a standard format for the first time. It will assess how real-time information could be published, showing whether chargepoints are in working order and currently in use, which could then be used by developers and incorporated into sat navs and route mapping apps.

Transport secretary Grant Shapps said: “We want to make electric cars the new normal, and ensuring drivers have convenient places to charge is key to that. By doubling funding again for chargepoints on streets where people live, and opening up data, we are helping drivers easily locate and use affordable, reliable chargepoints whether at home or on the road.”

Future of transport minister George Freeman said: “Comprehensive chargepoint data is crucial for mapping charging hotspots and notspots for consumers, to help to drive forward the electric vehicle revolution. We urge local councils to make use of the funding available to ensure their residents feel the benefits of cleaner transport.”

There are more than 17,000 devices providing in excess of 24,000 publicly available chargepoints in the UK, according to the DfT. However, only around 2,400 of these are rapid chargepoints.

Figures published by the Society of Motor Manufacturers and Traders shows 38,000 pure electric new cars were bought in 2019, more than double the previous year. These cars now hold a 1.6 per cent share of the new car market.

But industry experts have warned demand for electric cars will be restricted unless there are significant improvements to the charging infrastructure.

Last week the DfT launched a trial to provide wireless electric car charging for taxi drivers in Nottingham.

The UK plans to ban the sale of new petrol and diesel cars from 2040, a proposal that some have said “lacks
ambition”.

13. Collaboration with Axia Materials and opening doors with S Korea

AXIA develops advanced thermoplastic composite material solutions for the automotive, sports, electronics and building sectors, and produces pre-fabricated buildings. They are working with Versarien to incorporate Graphinks into Smart Buildings and Electric Vehicle in the first instance.

However, this collaboration was more than just a collaboration with Axia, it was to open the door in South Korea and lay down some roots.

The opportunity in Korea is vast. It’s worth noting that Samsung has more graphene patents than any other company in the world. Other companies such as Hyundai and LG are taking graphene very seriously indeed. It’s the most technologically advanced country in the world and its likely to keep its head down and stay quiet.

I’m sure Versarien will have been talking to many companies in Korea and harnessing its special relationship with UKGov to build up connections with all the major chaebols, respecting their disclosure preferences.

This could be why we don’t hear too much from Rachel Yeong-Mee Kim who was appointed as Versarien's local representative in South Korea. I know Neill is delighted with her work in the region.

Korea could well be the leftfield donkey punch no one is talking about. Watch this space.

Meanwhile over at IOF Fest imparts the following wisdom:

It’s taken me a long time, but I’ve slowly learned that shares in companies like this, with growing free cash flow, are to be bought not sold at the times when the chart is moribund.
The low market capitalisation here, versus the declared and forecasted revenue figures, is demonstrably out of kilter.

In other words, it’s not like VRS, where there is no revenue, no profit and a ridiculous market cap based on hype and hope.

Meanwhile up on the hill the Colonel had put the prisoners to work repairing the stockades, whilst the carpenters began erecting some watchtowers, which would be manned 24/7 once finished. The officers’ quarters had been completed and some troops had been despatched to Swampsville to procure a feather bed for the General.

Once the Colonel had briefed his officers for the day he got out his telescope and looked back up the trail that ran parallel to the course of the river Vesar. A huge grin came across his face when in the distance he could see the General’s column coming down the valley. It seemed to stretch on for over a mile, with the Cavalry up front, wagon train in the middle, and infantry coming up at the rear. Either side of it he could see drovers herding livestock. “My oh my” he said “our prayers have been answered”. He decided to ride out to greet the General and instructed two dozen Cavalry men to accompany him.

The General looked magnificent in full dress uniform astride his white charger and was clearly delighted to see the Colonel as it had been a long and hard ride from the Capitol. Once the Colonel had briefed him on recent events he said “I’ve been giving this problem a lot of thought over the last few months and I think it all stems from poverty and lack of opportunity, but we are at the start of a new age of technological development and therein lies the solution. I briefed the President a while back and he has made the construction of a Railroad to Swampsville a priority. Not only will that provide jobs for local people it would enable them to travel to other areas in search of work. We’re also bringing a telegraph line down the valley to improve communications”;.

“But you know what?” he said “the best thing is that the Federal Geological Service have discovered a huge deposit of Graphite just to the south of the swamp”. “Graphite you say. What’s that?” said the Colonel. “Well haven’t you ever used a pencil? I know you like that quill of yours” said the General but you don’t need ink with a pencil and now the Government has made education compulsory there’s a huge demand for them, so the President has authorised the construction of a mine and pencil factory down here. In order to ensure the safety of the people involved with these major projects we’re also gonna make that camp of yours into a permanent stronghold.”

The Colonel was mightily impressed and was looking forward to being able to use this new fangled railroad thingie to be able to visit his family as he got very saddle sore on long rides. He knew that his men would also be delighted to use it when they were granted some leave.

12.Collaboration with a prominent global sports and fashion goods manufacturer

It’s worth noting that this is NOT the MAS collaboration although there are some useful synergies in play. Although unnamed due to NDA, its not too difficult to guess. Since this collaboration there have been additional big name companies reaching out to Versarien to collaborate. These have not been RNSed as only new areas or geographical regions covered as I understand.

The collaboration aims to use Nanene to infuse into polymer, leather, elastomer and textile structures. In particular, to provide improved footwear and textile solutions aimed at the football sector with sponsorship top flight professional football clubs.

The key potential benefits of the use of graphene in these products is the increased performance of moisture barriers, increased material strength, weight reduction and improved thermal conductivity.

"The sports goods sector is fast moving and very open to the rapid adoption of new technologies. It is therefore a sector of significant focus for Versarien to enable a near term route to market for our high quality graphene”

New tech takes time but textiles is likely to be at the front in terms of commercial applications. Some hurdles eg patents, testing, user trials, use of trademarks/logos etc but noise from the Versarien camp is ever positive. Trials going well and showing significant improvement to outer soles and commenced new design for another football shoe.

We could see the fruits of this collaboration very soon, particularly as there are also links to the recent MAS collaboration which has reached commercial agreement. Quite remarkable that a collaboration of this gravitas is valued zero by the market at the moment.

Not priced in!
