Hi LO. I wasn't trying to infer that the Chinese aren't being difficult to negotiate with per se. It just seems that there are so many stakeholder organisations at national, local and discipline-specific level. Further, the list seems to be growing. My experience of projects is the more people involved the more unwieldy and slow moving they can become. This makes it entirely to be expected that the job's taking so long.

Get the tin hats on guys and prepare for the share price to come crashing round your ears today as I've been predicting for weeks. There's going to be a lot of deflated punters at the agm today. NR has delivered naff all as expected.

Incubation and factory facilities within preferred key strategic provinces are currently being discussed for final consideration; Presumably provinces is used in terms of more than one province I.e. multiple sites across China??

And meanwhile the rest of the world is getting its supply of graphene that works from somewhere, verified or not.

here's another for you.

"a year-long trial of a new graphene delivery method into textiles at Leeds University has now been successfully completed, with results which show significant improvements in tensile strength and thermal conductivity through the addition of our graphene"

Well that was an awfully long winded way of writing the Infamous words of our dear naysayers "more jam tomorrow" with the interesting still present last paragraph concerning BIGT of "possibly no jam tomorrow" difficult to remain excited after that reiteration of nothing more than has been said already many months previously. Everything still ongoing it is then.

Can somebody also ask how a multi-tonne deal with eg AECOM would be supplied in terms of manpower, machinery, factory space, funding etc if the BIGT deal doesn't pan out?

Nothing in that says it has been difficult to negotiate with the Chinese lol. If it wasn't going to happen this would be the end point of the deal but looks bigger than originally anticipated

The strategy agreed between BIGT and Versarien is to create an incubation hub in Beijing in partnership with the Chinese Government's Administrative Committee of Beijing Petrochemical New Materials Science and Technology Industry Base, Versarien and CIGIU in return for access to a funded science park, access to a pipeline of projects and to locate a factory in a funded Sino-British industrial park within Shangdong Province.

BIGT continues to work with the Director General of the Beijing Municipal Bureau of Economy and IT. The Director General of the Beijing Municipal Bureau of Economy and IT has provided the following statement to the Company:

"The collaboration between Versarien, BIGT, CIGIU and the Beijing Government is completely aligned with the industrial strategic positioning and trend. We will lend our full support, without hesitation. We will also liaise with other Beijing Government Departments and the Beijing District Government to progress this initiative. Throughout the process we will carefully plan the deal structure and conditions and the IP matters. In conclusion we have no problem in supporting this collaboration."

Which as far as I am aware is as big as it gets !

Great RNS. That'll do me. VRS is massively oversold. With regards to the Asian based textile producer, it's coming together. No collaboration has fallen apart. Bring it on.

If someone who is going to the AGM today could ask Mr Ricketts a question for me I'd much appreciate it.It's as follows:"If BIGT want 15% of the company as an investment, but you are also determined to allow existing investors and institutions to invest on the same terms, you are essentially asking the Chinese to put more money into the company than they might actually want to at this stage (to retain their 15% share of the increased shares in issue). Is this one of the sticking points in the negotiations, and if so, how are you proposing to overcome it?"

nice.

"We are also trialling a new grade of concrete at the Graphene Engineering Innovation Centre and at a civil engineering institute featuring a graphene based material. These trials form part of our collaboration agreement with AECOM, along with a further four projects in China and the Middle East."

“Basically long term jam tomorrow, 5-10 years, clearly it’s proving very, very difficult to negotiate with the Chinese.”

All these comments about dealing with the Chinese, ripping off the tech, doing you over for a deal are nonsense.

Versarien are in a great place.

nice.

"As reported on the 26 July 2019, the Company had signed a Letter of Intent with its Asian based textile partner. I can confirm that advanced discussions have now been held with the intent to sign a formal commercial partnership in the near future."

I'm getting the sense that trying to get this Chinese deal done is like fighting the hydra. Every time you chop off a head another two appear. Sounds like a bureaucratic labyrinth with more layers of government involved than there are in an onion:"The collaboration between Versarien, BIGT, CIGIU and the Beijing Government is completely aligned with the industrial strategic positioning and trend. We will lend our full support, without hesitation. We will also liaise with other Beijing Government Departments and the Beijing District Government to progress this initiative.

Given that the Chinese situation remains subject to agreement, I was hoping for something on US progress. Two or three decent actual projects running (one R&D for a large Japanese Co) but no mention at all.

Perfectly acceptable statement imho. Everything progressing well. I have no idea why CS has such a problem with our CEO; his personal attacks are completely unjustified, and are indicative of a man with serious problems.Mr Ricketts has my full support, and I am more than happy to watch and wait as this amazing story unfolds.
