Just returned from fracture clinic with the wife, goof news, her boot can come off.

SG, I have only just seen the ECO news, you pit me on to it about a year back. I did do quite a bit of research and it has paid off. Thank you!

I am pretty sure VRS will have good news for us soon.

I sometimes wonder why some people are here and they state they are invested but it appears not. It's ok to ask probing questions and I'd rather that than opinion when that opinion is unsubstantiated or plain subversive Then information that comes out of the company is substantial compared to other companies I invest in. The BoD and Neill are open and transparent and engaging giving shareholders imho unprecedented access to the team.YET for some they look to picnit and over analyse what's said and then they infer something completely different to logic.I won't talk (name) other shares but have been following for a few months (eg comments from shareholder who appear on the boards I have followed and there are a number of flip floppers who never appear to sell but only ever buy. Significantly they then profess their knowledge as gospel on the shares they imho they are out on. Those other shares then go down again and they put more in and it seems they must by huge in there yet never sell and have more money than anyone I know available Those people are obvious and maybe need to come with a warning on those other boards I'll hold off for now as this VRS is my interest and if someone wants to sell here and or profess they are being misled etc then sell Encourage you to. I'd rather you be out when good news drops and stay out I know nooothing

PShevlin, you should know by now that anything other than out and out adulation, or unswerving positivity is badly received on here. So, you're wasting your time.Mike Brenner did a brilliantly balanced piece following the Zak Mir hatchet job, and he pointed out some of less palatable truths. No one dared denigrate him though, funny that.

What more do you expect from the company? It's simple.....they're negotiating a deal, negotiations are ongoing. It's obviously very important, complex and sensitive and nothing is certain. That's about all they can say.

So it seems like the train of thought is as follows......"I have a lack of faith in humanity"......I know.....I'll post another negative comment on BB !!!!!!

"The Company can confirm that discussions between BIGT and the Company remain ongoing and that the WFOE has now been successfully incorporated as the Beijing Versarien Technology Company Limited and the business licence has been granted by the relevant Chinese authorities. This will enable the Directors to progress the funding discussions with BIGT. We look forward to updating shareholders regarding developments as appropriate."

So not definite which is why I asked and as to who is doing the stringing along....only leaves one party and those are the ones desperate to get the technology.
I'm not saying it won't happen. Just my lack of faith in humanity I suppose.

China Update and Clarification.

Versarien plc (AIM: VRS), the advanced materials engineering group, is pleased to provide an update and clarification on its plans for expansion into China.

on 15 April 2019, the Company announced that it had signed a term sheet with the Beijing Institute of Graphene Technology Co. Ltd ("BIGT") covering the proposed cooperation between the parties to develop Versarien's graphene related business in China. The term sheet envisaged that BIGT would provide funding to Versarien for the proposed wholly owned subsidiary ("WFOE") and other corporate purposes in the form of an equity investment, providing BIGT with a holding of up to 15% of the issued share capital of the Company, whilst giving existing and prospective private and institutional shareholders the opportunity to participate on the same terms.

The Company can confirm that discussions between BIGT and the Company remain ongoing and that the WFOE has now been successfully incorporated as the Beijing Versarien Technology Company Limited and the business licence has been granted by the relevant Chinese authorities. This will enable the Directors to progress the funding discussions with BIGT. We look forward to updating shareholders regarding developments as appropriate.

So who's doing the "stringing along then"?

By the way I didn't mean strung along by VRS.

transparent? Actually it's not based on anything but a little concern especially about the price we will be offered for the dilution. I just hate not knowing (anything).
I have no motives here except to make money, especially in currencies that are not £ sterling :-)

........I can't see any stringing along either. Everything has been made clear in the RNSs. Why would you even post such a stupid comment?......I wonder?????

pshevlin - you are becoming more and more transparent by the day!

Re your: I just worry that we are being strung along here.

Perhaps you would explain exactly what that conjecture is based on, especially given the recent RNS confirming the 'Wholly Foreign Owned Enterprise' company has now been successfully set up:

the WFOE has now been successfully incorporated as the Beijing Versarien Technology Company Limited and the business licence has been granted by the relevant Chinese authorities.

O/T,

I'm not against sharing information on companies that look to have potential as long as it's not silly ramping/deramping. I spend hours researching companies where I understand the strategy/accounts/technology. When I find a new company of interest I sometimes find a point or two which might be negative but also might not be negative due to a lack of understanding as I'm just starting the analysis.
Raising a query on the relevant board often leads to hostility from the pi share holders. I would be interested in a board where a general discussion of new opportunities could be discussed without having to battle entrenched positions.
There are at least 6 companies I'm looking into which look promising and one that looks to have unseen problems. In some cases it can be in an area in which I have not enough expertise in understanding their model and would be happy to have my concerns either being shown as correct or otherwise.
sg started a thread IOF tipsters (IOF)which is along these lines but hasn't had much action. Perhaps posters here regarding other shares would like to reactivate that site. Maybe someone could even set up a site specifically for this purpose.

superg, many thanks for the ECO nudge from me and all who took the tip and bought some. Looks like I will be able to eat this year after the falling pound has destroyed the value of my pension.

Sorry for the O/T, but I believe the lessons I learned from ECO also apply to VRS.

Firstly, I owe a great deal of thanks to you, superg. I noted your Eco recommendation last summer on this board (ECO and IOF were your tips) and bought a small stake at 39p. We had a chat at the AGM about Eco, oil fields, 3D seismic surveys, Guyana and Namibia.

I am still learning how to research and invest in stocks (with a few expensive lessons along the way) and I knew nothing about oil companies beforehand. Reading up on the ECO bbs these last few months, I've learned a lot and I feel more confident in my investments in general.

The share price had been steadily declining from 100p to 65p the last couple of months, and doomsters were starting to fill the boards, but I knew enough and trusted the data so I held on and topped up a couple of times. Every news item and company action in the meantime only served to back up the data. It was pretty obvious there was a huge reservoir of oil in ECO's blocks, and the CEO Gil seems a decent, honest guy, so it was just a matter of waiting.

I'm not a trader, I was about 50/50 when I tried it, so I have given up in favour of patience and trusting my research into a handful of companies, rather than chasing peaks or dips. I work full time (more than full time) and I just don't have the time for chasing daily share price movements.

And it's the same with VRS. It seems blindingly obvious to me that this company is going to be a massive success, so I have bought in and I hold and I continue to add when I can. I don't care what the share price is doing in the short-term because I'm not a trader. I can relax and let NR and his excellent, dedicated team take care of business, and because everything is moving in the right direction I have faith in their methods.

Good luck to all LTH :)

Couldn't agree more maisto. Government acknowledgment of the importance of graphene is most welcome and will undoubtedly draw attention from large scale users.
